Looking at the 45th President's page at whitehouse.gov

"Mr. Trump won the election on November 8 of 2016 in the largest electoral college landslide for a Republican in 28 years. He won over 2,600 counties nationwide, the most since President Reagan in 1984. Additionally, he won over 62 million votes in the popular vote, the highest all-time for a Republican nominee. He also won 306 electoral votes, the most for a Republican since George H.W. Bush in 1988. Millions of Americans rallied behind his message of rebuilding our country and disrupting the status quo —this was a truly national victory and a historic movement."

"Disrupting" is the word...

Now compare with the 44th President

"He was elected the 44th President of the United States on November 4, 2008, and sworn in on January 20, 2009. "

You're right about the resemblance tits - and now I'm singing 'Everything is awesome' Grin

PausingFlatly · 01/02/2017 12:29

So rank, rank, rank.

Followed by buzzword "disrupting", 'cos it's what the cool cats use for "changing things in my favour, probably by breaking them."

TheDrsDocMartens · 01/02/2017 12:36

Small gesture but I found a load of holocaust Memorial Day leaflets in the library and hid the Daily Mail under them.
Lot of racism overheard in my library Hmm unfortunately not today as I had a rant prepared

I bet they could tell just by looking at you. Grin

There's always another day.

Lots of questions on NATO and Europe.

I hope Trump commits to NATO - or else she will have egg on her face.

Lweji · 01/02/2017 12:42

I think the question at this time is whether NATO countries will want Trump's US in it.

MrDacresEUSubsidy · 01/02/2017 12:44

an historic movement.

So I'm doubly irritated; firstly due to the brown-nosing tone of that write-up and secondly because they can't punctuate, spell or use correct grammar!

MrDacresEUSubsidy · 01/02/2017 12:46

Am reading very good book on geopolitics at the moment, which was published in 2015 and is taking on additional meaning right now. The chapter on the USA and its involvement in global politics and NATO is extremely interesting.

QuizteamBleakley · 01/02/2017 12:51

Bigly placemark.

AlternativeLies · 01/02/2017 12:56

So much talk of NATO and increased budgets and commitments.

All this shows it that the last 10-20 years worth of foreign policy have not worked we are living in a world where we value guns over butter.

And even Maggie the blue blooded queen of the right would actually despair at that.

amispartacus · 01/02/2017 12:59

The NRA counter argument - open carry. So the bad guys get shot.

Except it just takes 1 person to buy a gun and carry out a massacre. People with guns can't be everywhere to protect Amercans.

OP posts:
AlternativeLies · 01/02/2017 13:08

But some argued that you could in fact should encourage people to be armed everywhere.

See this opinion piece.

AlternativeLies · 01/02/2017 13:09

And I am not agreeing with that at all by the way.

amispartacus · 01/02/2017 13:11

Just takes 1 person with a gun to carry out an attack. People don't care about dying.

fleuricle · 01/02/2017 13:31

maybe we could 'build a wall' like the Orange One, and make THEM pay???

(or is the Orange One officially Peter Andre on MN? - maybe he'd make a better job of running the Free World, after all, he luffs his kids...)

MrWriter · 01/02/2017 13:33

Oh my goodness, I haven't been on mn since last week and you've had loads of threads since, it took me all day yesterday to catch up!

I'm thoroughly depressed now, and going to go back to work!

amispartacus · 01/02/2017 13:37

I would have liked someone to ask the PM what message she had for the 1.8 million people who signed the petition.

OP posts:
fleuricle · 01/02/2017 13:45

Me too, ami

It's a not inconsiderable number...

Not in my bloody name! Angry

amispartacus · 01/02/2017 13:48

amispartacus & fleuricle

I don't think she could provide an answer to that one in the House Wink

Lweji · 01/02/2017 14:19

She's not in the business of protesting, she's in the business of government.

Apparently. Or disgovernment.
