That was my understanding too, M0stly. The Hobby Lobby case, far from reinforcing religious freedom, gave all the freedom to the employers while depriving the workers reliant on health insurance of the right to act according to their conscience.

Was horrified to read that the Pill can cost as much as $600 a year in the U.S.

My understanding is that the Society of Jesus had - to a fair degree - proposed some rather elegant thinking/wording to get round the then stance on contraception. (Zapped in Paul VI's Encyclical though.)
