I find it laughable that the WH explained the hand holding away as his fear of stairs. He managed just fine climbing up the steps of the WH on inauguration day though, despite the fact that his wife could have held his hand if only for the fact that he'd left her behind...
May let herself be made to look like an utter fool. I suspect he grabbed her hand for whatever reason and being oh-so-polite she said nothing, probably privately thinking that he'd fuck off and remove his sweaty paw. But to the rest of the world they see her being dragged along by an ego-maniacal idiot, which sends a message that she's so desperate for a trade deal that there's no level she won't stoop to in order to get one from him.
As a woman I despair. In so many industries - hell, in life - we're held to a higher standard of accountability than men. We have to work harder, be better, brighter, more tenacious, more determined just to achieve parity let alone get ahead. It's not fair but those are the facts. Would he have done this to a man? Would he fuck. May needs to strap her big girl pants on and not just save them for political point scoring in PMQs.
