I am trying to come up with a list of these. I have noticed three in my own grocery/everyday expenses: Flour bag (nearly 6%), fare (5%) and bread (25-30% fr what i remember just a few days ago).
I suppose they were supposed to increase considering the loss of value for £ after Brexit vote. But I was too busy to take notice and only noticed these three.
Can we please try to document it somehow?

I'm going to pay more attention when i go this week !

And actually yes Pepsi must have because I often buy a big bottle when I get my petrol as it's always , always on offer for a pound but it hasn't been on offer for a couple of weeks now Hmm

QuinionsRainbow · 30/01/2017 22:39

Petrol - 4* now £1.21 a litre here, and seemingly rising by 1 - 2 p per week.

FuckOffDailyMailQuitQuotingMN · 30/01/2017 22:41

Maybe Brexit will signal the end to my horrible Pepsi Max addiction when they reach £5 a bottle. Wink

LALALALALAND · 30/01/2017 22:42

Train travel
Yorkshire show tickets
Anything from the USA as exchange rate is very low.

BlackeyedSusan · 30/01/2017 22:45

aldi milk has crept back up to nearly a pound for four pints.
their sweetcorn has risen per kilo I think.
petrol is going up again.

stoptalkingaboutminecraft · 30/01/2017 22:45

Mostly shop online with Tesco and I notice price increases all the time. Just today Tesco cream crackers have gone from 27p last week to 35p this week. Still a low price item, but high % increase. Hovis bread was 84p for ages, now 90p. Bananas have gone from 62p per kilo to over 70p per kilo.

GplanAddict · 30/01/2017 22:47

I've noticed cadbury creme eggs are now teeny tiny, and monster munch bags same size but less crisps Blush

stoptalkingaboutminecraft · 30/01/2017 22:47

Oh and as pp I too am addicted to Pepsi Max but I refuse to pay more than a pound. It was 2.09 in a local supermarket today for 2l.

backtowork2015 · 30/01/2017 22:49

Daffodils. They were £1 a bunch last year, £1.20 last week.

Closedenv · 30/01/2017 22:49

Everything bread, vegetables, tinned things, nothing on offer or if they are they are at the price I used to pay chocolate especially.petrol too.

clumsyduck · 30/01/2017 22:50

Another Pepsi max addict however I tried Aldis version of Diet Coke in the cans and it was a lot nicer than expected so that will be the way forward for now

DameVanillaSugar · 30/01/2017 22:50

Ah, I'm glad you mentioned that Aldi has gone up in price. My shop cost £78 - normally it's about £68. Amd don't get me started in petrol!

stoptalkingaboutminecraft · 30/01/2017 22:51

The one I am gobsmacked about is hot chocolate. I always get the Options hot chocolate jar and it jumped from £2 to £4 in a year. I only buy if it's on offer now.

gluteustothemaximus · 30/01/2017 22:52

Yes. Noticed a few.

Apple juice 69p to 79p
Butter 89p to £1.09
Cornflakes £1.98 to £2.49
Beer for 18 cans gone up by 2-3 pounds

There are others. Creeping in slowly but surely.

Champagneformyrealfriends · 30/01/2017 22:53

Pepsi Max addict too-though I don't think anything will stop me from drinking it Blush

Bluntness100 · 30/01/2017 22:53

You don't need to create a list. The retail price index is published monthly and tracks inflation on household items.

Valentine2 · 30/01/2017 22:54

Ok this is a really big list o have got now. A large number of these items are on my grocery list usually.
Formula milk price increase is extortionate Sad and your rent!
£25 can make a big difference to a weekly shop of fresh fruits for kids Sad

I have also seen the decrease in size for the same price but I never really documented it much. All in all, my weekly shop (a combination of supermarkets plus local as we don't get around to shop around much) has gone up nearly 10-15% in the last few months though I can't pin it on some select items as I never thought of writing it down.
We can nearly just afford a bit more may be but I dread to think how my student self would have survived it. Sad

Weekly shop for me and DP at Sainsburys was around £40 before Christmas. Cost me £50 this week with no real difference in items. Certainly noticing some things. Seeing more and more 1.5l bottles of pop for £1 than the 2l ones, which are now £1.30 or so.

Valentine2 · 30/01/2017 22:55

Blunt
Thanks for that information. I will go check on it.

YY to petrol, it is a big chunk to pay out as I do 1250 miles a month (long commute).

Asteroid2000 · 30/01/2017 22:58

Tesco own 'gold' coffee, large tub. Went from £3 to £3.60 last October

Valentine2 · 30/01/2017 22:59

museupants
Exactly! I was trying to control the weekly shop a bit more and was hoping that I was going to achieve some bits in the new year. Despite my planned efforts, it's actually increased now.
Not only the supermarkets, the local grocers have one suddenly up. A bunch of corriander form my local grocer was £0.70 last month. Yesterday I paid £0.99!
Is there some place we could register it all? Is there any place we could register complaints against this? Surely even the fall in £ cannot account for some of these?

iLoveCamelCase · 30/01/2017 22:59

Tesco 2 salmon fillets up to £3.75 from £3.50, so up 7% in past 2 weeks...

BillyButtfuck · 30/01/2017 22:59

For context with my rent it was £1200 and my landlord tried to put it upto £1250 which is just over 4%, we refused and argued it was unfair in relation to general inflation and we met in the middle.
£25 really doesn't sound a lot but loosing £300 per year with the other increases discussed on this thread has a bigger impact than we ever thought.

gaggiagirl · 30/01/2017 23:00

Pepsi max. It was still £1 at b&m but sold out quickly.
Bread.
Aldi prices have really shot up. I didn't save anything by shopping there last week.
Sweetcorn.
