I don't know Stella Creasy - have seen her name banded about some but don't know if good or bad, but I sat here in tears listening to her. Why can't our PM be that articulate and passionate about this?

This may have been covered on one of the previous threads so apologies,

But WHY THE FUCK aren't decent Republicans standing up to be counted about this fucking lunatic who has somehow been given the keys to the Oval Office?

Are they THAT blinded by the tantalising possibility of banning baby-killing, so they're just staying schtum until the Supreme Court replacement etc? That thrilled by the fact that now everyone's gun-toting rights are safe from those awful whining Democrats, so now idiots with guns can go around blowing each others' brains out a bit more while everyone pretends more people have been killed by Islamic terrorists ?

I'm appalled. I don't give a shit if they'll lose their seats if they speak out. This is bigger than that. I'm not American but surely banning people from entering the country is just plain old un-American. Let alone all the other crazy shit this moron has pulled since defacing the planet with his mere presence. Won't release his tax returns! Won't put his business into a blind trust! Grabs women by the pussy and brags about it!

He's vile. A stinking piece of scum who is also, unfortunately for the security of the planet, as fucking stupid as he is unhinged.

And the GOP aren't saying a word? Apart from McCain???

It's a travesty. They should be ashamed.

I''m not religious but I am praying every night that he's impeached/disgraced enough to resign/just gives up because he can't hack the workload.

ZebraOwl · 30/01/2017 19:58

I realise link looks wrong, it's a live thread & that's the latest news!

GingerIvy · 30/01/2017 19:59

I believe there are 11 GOP that have spoken out against the ban so far.

squishysquirmy · 30/01/2017 19:59

Daily mail won't care that their headline was wrong - it's done it's job.

Just when I thought Boris Johnson couldn't be more of a shameless hypocrite... He says it's disrespectful to make comparisons to the Nazis? He compares something/someone to Hitler at least every other day! Angry

'Get out of Washington,' Spicer told journalists. 'Go to some really racist towns and you'll find lots of support for the ban.'

LBC Radio gives airtime to Hopkins and Farage. Both of them are all for the ban.

I bet Washington is a prime target.

It's going to come. I notice Trump is silent on the Quebec shooting OF Muslims.

"We shouldn't be trading our values to secure a trade relation" Stella Creasy - YES this

amispartacus · 30/01/2017 20:05

Is the same debate happening in the US Congress?

OP posts:
GingerIvy · 30/01/2017 20:07

The people are noisy. Congress (with a few very vocal exceptions) are very quiet.

JessiCake · 30/01/2017 20:08

Oh I hadn't realised that about the 11 GOP Ginger, thanks - will look it up.

Still bloody shameful that there are no more of them.

If I were an American and a Democrat (which I would be, if I were American) I'd happily throw my support behind any GOP candidate that decried Trump.

amispartacus · 30/01/2017 20:09

Shabana Mahmood very good - talking about British values

The Muslim MPs are very very powerful

"But WHY THE FUCK aren't decent Republicans standing up to be counted about this fucking lunatic who has somehow been given the keys to the Oval Office?"

Unfortunately, 20+ years of barely concealed racism, intolerance and big money have eaten away at the Republican party so it is pretty much composed of morons and bigots with only a few decentish types still involved on the margins.

It's good to see that, actually, there are still quite a few Tories with some values. Long may it last.
