Anyone have an app recommendation? My FIL is interested and I just checked and there are loads in the app store.

Couch?

19lottie82 · 30/01/2017 11:48

I think the NHS one is the best

19lottie82 · 30/01/2017 11:48

But tbh I can't see there being much difference between them..... the basis is the same

Man10 · 30/01/2017 12:00

I assumed this thread was going to be about an expensive sofa, but apparently I'm wrong. Still have no idea what it is about though.

Happyelves · 30/01/2017 12:02

I tried this once. Only useful suggestion I have is not to be too afraid to leave your front door that you walk and jog up and down your hallway

Pinkstars2501 · 30/01/2017 12:03

I use the NHS Choices app.

ChequeredPasta · 30/01/2017 22:56

The NHS one is brill

Viviene · 30/01/2017 23:09

NHS one is the best.

UpWithPup · 30/01/2017 23:16

I use c25k. I like it

scottishdiem · 30/01/2017 23:28

Oh. From sitting on the couch to running 5km. Or "From Couch to 5km" as the thread should have opened with.

Mybrainishurtingme · 30/01/2017 23:35

Yep NHS one, I completed it a while back years ago but just restarted, and I like Laura's encouragement! (The 'narrator' on the NHS one)

Not tried any others to compare but if it can get me running last time I ran was at school then it must be good

Also it's free, so an added bonus

DrFoxtrot · 30/01/2017 23:37

The app is called Couch to 5k Hmm I'm bored of the thread title police.

OP I started with Couch to 5k and then had enough confidence to join a running group so definitely give it a go.

DrFoxtrot · 30/01/2017 23:37

Or FIL give it a go Grin

scottishdiem · 30/01/2017 23:47

You may be bored of thread title police but a little more relevance might make it clearer. Or was this some kind of insider code that I should not have had to google to discover what OP was talking about?

BikeRunSki · 30/01/2017 23:51

I rally like the NHS app. It has encouraging messages at all the right times.

VeryBitchyRestingFace · 31/01/2017 00:00

I was about to ask for photos of this £5k couch. Blush

max46 · 31/01/2017 07:36

Another vote for the NHS one. Laura is very motivating (even if the music is a bit rubbish),

GoesDownLikeACupOfColdSick · 31/01/2017 07:39

I used the first one that comes up on google. It took me from being a fat slob to being able to run for an hour at a time.

Then I stopped and now I am a fat slob again. So stopping is the only thing I do not recommend. Go for it :)

RhubarbGin · 31/01/2017 07:40

I much prefer the c25k app over the Nhs one!

RhubarbGin · 31/01/2017 07:41

c25k by Zenlabs, that is.

Waffles80 · 31/01/2017 07:41

scottish are your reading skills so weak that you can't quickly infer that "couch 2 5k" might refer to "from couch 2 5k"

Hmm
BitOutOfPractice · 31/01/2017 07:43

Scottish I regularly have to google stuff (especially acronyms) on here. Not exactly a hardship is it? And just think, you've learned something new in the process.

So yeah, no need snotty title policing

GloGirl · 31/01/2017 07:57

I'd also like to see a £5k couch Grin

Thanks for all your advice I'll pass it on.
