Entire street (actually I think entire neighbourhood by now) has had their domestic waste bins taken away, and replaced with communal bins kept in the service lanes. Old bins were collected a week ago.

Clearly it hasn't occurred to them that if they are going to insist on lockable communal bins, it might be an idea to give residents keys to them.

Had a look at the website which is weirdly specific yet lacking in crucial details. The FAQ section kindly lets us know that fires can still be started in these bins noted but apparently they didn't forsee the question of “Where's my key?”

AIBU to think they are complete morons?

(Plus, AIBU to be annoyed only us plebs have to put up with this nonsense, whilst the naicer areas get to keep individual bins that can actually be used?)
