Don't get me wrong, Morgan is an utter twunt and his rant about the Woman's March was vile... BUT, McGregor wasn't taking such a principled stance when he was working with/singing the praises of the man who raped and sodomised a child. He's a hypocrite.

Putting my tin hat on now! Confused

Steff, Morgan called McGregor a paedophile loving hypocrite so yes basically referring to his relationship with Polanski, after McGregor pulled out of Good Morning Britain following Morgan's twattery about the Woman's March

I'm perplexed at how easily Piers Morgan manages to sidetrack an issue.Hmm

steff13 · 25/01/2017 00:24

I'm perplexed at Hollywood's attitude towards Polanski. That girl was 13 and he drugged her. If I recall correctly, he got a standing ovation at the Oscars a few years ago. He's talented, but that does not negate the fact that he belongs in jail.

memyselfandaye · 25/01/2017 00:24

Blind Gossip has an interesting "blind" today, if we are talking hypocrites.

Just saying.

Creampastry · 25/01/2017 07:13

I quite like Piers Morgan ....

Oblomov17 · 25/01/2017 07:18

Piers Morgan is awful. Ewan McG is a Twonk aswell.

RedHelenB · 25/01/2017 07:19

Well done Ewan Mcgregor for taking a stand! Two separate issues so Piers "defence" is a bit perplexing.

AuntMabel · 25/01/2017 07:27

So up until the point EM called PM on his misogynistic bile, PM was willing to share a sofa and interview such a horrid Polanski supporter? Hmm

NotYoda · 25/01/2017 07:28

Two wrongs don't make a right

Or that's what I was taught

Utterly pointless dichotomy you've set up here

PossumInAPearTree · 25/01/2017 07:37

I'm annoyed that Piers has deflected the arguement by starting an arguement about a different issue. Just smacks of wild insult flinging because he's having a tantrum.

TheNaze73 · 25/01/2017 07:50

Very principled of Ewan, to do that the week his new film is released

derxa · 25/01/2017 07:58

Anyway PM is part of the same machine. All publicity is good publicity.

Morgan is hardly in a position to call anyone else a paedophile lover. This is the man who told Savile that everyone loved him. And his concerns about Ewan McGregor would be more credible if they weren't prompted by his hissy fit about McGregor refusing to be interviewed by him. He reminds me irresistibly of Rob Titchenor in The Archers whose reaction to being barred or sacked is always "I didn't want to do it anyway" - and his views on women have distinct similarities.

I also agree that he's blatantly trying to change the subject away from his disgusting opinions on women. That's the classic reaction of someone who knows he's lost the argument.

GrumpyOldBag · 25/01/2017 08:02

Well, duh, he was only invited on PM's show because of the film.

GrumpyOldBag · 25/01/2017 08:03

Piers Morgan = Rob Tichener. yes, yes, yes !

BakeOffBiscuits · 25/01/2017 08:22

Maybe Ewen has changed his mind about the peopdophile Polanski, but Polanski isn't the issue here, that CUNT Morgan is.

As others have said Morgan is just deflecting from his own cuntish behaviour. I mean he's friends with Trump and I expect he's waiting for a call from him. Let's hope he gets one and he fucks off over to the states again. Mind you, most people hate him there too Hmm

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 25/01/2017 08:27

I was about to say YABY for using the term "appalled" but you have a point|!!!

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 25/01/2017 08:28

This times a million. McGregor and Polanski isn't 'new news'.

LuluLovesFruitcakes · 25/01/2017 08:31

This. With bells on.

PM is a vile, misogynistic prick who literally has zero moral standing here or anywhere really

derxa · 25/01/2017 08:32

I'm sure they both thought it was a good day's work. I'm in the papers! I'm tweeting about how outraged I am! Yippee!!

Can you separate the two? I can. I adore Woody Allen films even if I don't like the thought of him as a person.
I imagine it's the same with Roman Polanski. Remember too that times have moved on a lot, 20 or 30 years ago we were conditioned to accept misogyny. And men were conditioned to be sexist. There's a lot of work to do.
I don't mean to apologise for these men's awful behaviour to some women, but there is s level at which I can understand if.
Whatever the issue with Polanski or Allen though, I cannot abide Piers Morgan. He is not a great talent or of great charisma, merely an attention seeking misogynist. He would say the sky was purple if he thought he'd make headlines.

derxa · 25/01/2017 08:49

This attitude appals me. Do you actually think people of my generation (born late 1950s) were not disgusted by the sexual assault on a 13 year old girl?

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 25/01/2017 08:54

Understanding the climate that contributed to social mores is one thing. Woody Allan is in a relationship with his stepdaughter (which he thought would be a 'fling' when he started it, nice) and Polanski drugged and raped a 13 yo child.

those things were never acceptable.

JoffreyBaratheon · 25/01/2017 09:01

This:

Like Mr Morgan wouldn't pole dance wearing a tutu in one of Polanski's films if he thought it would further his career.
