To ask DH to leave work?

Really not sure if AIBU or not. DH works shifts and I'm a SAHM with 3 dds. Last night all 3 came down with a vomiting bug. A child vomited every 30 mins all fucking night. And now i feel shaky and sick. Dd3 has stopped puking, dd1&2 are vomimg roughly every hour. Dd2 has oral aversion and is probably being sick cos dd1 is. Every time i stand up the room swings. I can't get to the dds fast enough to catch the sick. Dd3 (18 months) is screaming on loop as she wants cuddles. DH has always said i can summon him home if i really cannot cope. He is working till 10 p.m. and right now i can't see how to make lunch time. So would AIBU to ask him to leave work?

Glad your DH is on his way home to help look after you all. No way you can take care of three sick children on your own if you are throwing up yourself. I remember similar happening to us years ago and contemplating calling my mum (as a real last desperate resort) as I felt too weak and sick to look after my dd, although we did manage to struggle through in the end - but we only had one child to care for and you have 3!! Hope you all feel much better soon. Bloody germs!!!

Hope you all feel better soon OP! Flowers

In future, I know it's probably not quite so practical with all 3 DDS being ill. but when my brother and I were kids and had vomitting sickness, rather than using towels and buckets etc, my mum would make us up a bed in the bath (duvet to line it to make it comfortable covered with an old sheet then towels, blankets and pillows on top) so that we could be comfortable and yet not to far from the loo to be sick into, and being the bathroom, everything was tiled or wipe clean, so was so much easier to clean up any near misses, and if we were sick on any of the coverings, they could just be whipped off and replaced with another towel/blanket etc

Melj1213 thats genius but part of dd2s oral issues are being sick to "links". So if she sees the sick bowl she will vom despite being well. Being in the bathroom would make her worse! You basically have to be utterly callous which looks awful in public.
DH is an hour away. Dd3 is eating egg and soliders that i managed to cook but didn't through the effect of the smell.

I get sick often, and have learned to line my sick bowl with 2 plastic shopping bags. I get sick into it, and can either pour it from the bag down the toilet and pitch the bag, or if I can't deal with it immediately I can tie the bags off and stop the sight/smell until I'm capable of dealing with it
It makes clean up a million times easier.

BeachyKeen · 23/01/2017 12:08

Sorry , I meant to say I hope you all feel better soonFlowers

You poor poor thing Sad

DC3 had a bug which they passed on to DC1 and DC2 and me, while DH was out playing a gig. Trying to assist 2 little ones while vomiting myself with a very weak pelvic floor will not leave me in a hurry.

It comes to something when you see being ill alone a luxury! Get well soon Flowers

Trouble is emptying the bloody things

OK, This is rank but works. Line the buckets with a nappy sack or similar, with a sheet of kitchen roll in the bottom of the bag. Remove, knot and re line putting the used bag into a bin sack for mass disposal.

We all had noro just before Xmas. It was horrendous but worst over in 24 hours. YADNBU to have called him home. Vomming kids is a two person job even when not sick yourself. Hope you are all better soon Flowers

Katastrophe13 · 23/01/2017 12:23

Oh and flowerytwat I have regular fantasies about being ill on my own. one day the dream will come true...
