Plug in Lighting HELP!!!!

Sorry I'm completely aware this isn't an AIBU but I've already posted elsewhere and not getting responses and I'm desperate. We've just had a conservatory fitted, I need lighting that is plug in instead of wired. Does anyone have any suggestions?! The lights need to be bright enough to light up the entire room properly. I don't mind buying multiples and would like to not spend too much thanks for any suggestions.

I'm interested to see any answers you get. I have the same problem and didn't get far with google! We have a couple of floor lamps at the moment and it's not so bad, I often consider getting a quote to put electrical lights in but it's not a priority at the moment.

Could you use an uplighter and a couple of table lamps for areas where you want a bit more light? You can get some uplighters with a reading lamp as well, which can be good for placing next to a sofa/chair.

Then play with the bulb type, some fittings will have a limit for what they will take but many will take various ranges of light output, from 400 lumen to 1800 lumen. The 1800 will be harsh, more for the uplighter. 400 is much softer, so more for the table lamps.

Quite a few wall lights from Ikea are the plug-in type, rather than being wired. We have this in our living room where we couldn't be bothered to get an electrician in to run the cables. It comes with a clamp if you want to attach it to a shelf, but it's also got a bit you can just screw to the wall. Was very easy to install.

For various reasons we currently don't have lighting in our sitting room so are using a halogen uplighter which gives us sufficient light to read, knit etc and not feel we're 'cosy'

I don't have any fixed lighting in my living room, and have discovered that a halogen uplighter, just one, works very well. It's one of those "mother and daughter" lamps, so I can use the smaller, adjustable light as a spotlight if I need extra brightness.

I did think of the mother and daughter lamps, anyone else have ideas?

We have a floor lamp and a table lamp in ours, both of which have dimmer switches on so we can have mood lighting but it also can light up the whole room.
