To think if you're going to balance your laptop on the arm of the bloody sofa all night

When theres two bouncy cats and a child in the house it's asking to get knocked off and broken??

Dds dad is huffing and puffing about the fact the cat broke his laptop last night. When questioned as to how it happened he said he'd left it on the arm of the chair and the cat knocked it off. It hit the floor right on the corner and the bit where the charger goes has smashed.

Of course it's all the fucking cats fault, not his for putting it in an unsafe place in the first place!

He's refusing to call he insurance people about it either. Well he's a big boy and can bloody well do it himself or suck it up that it's bust 😠😠

I left mine there too.

I now have a new laptop.

Is he expecting you to replace it?!?

His own fault!!!

Ginkypig · 19/01/2017 11:38

Ye because the cat sat there and said to its little furry self I'm going to jump up there and knock that laptop right to the floor moohahaha!

If things get left where they could get broken then somtimes they get broken.

Admiralclingus · 19/01/2017 11:39

Nah he's not expecting me to replace it, he expects me to phone the insurance though!

He can't blame it on the cat, anyone could of brushed passed it & knocked it over. Silly place to leave it.

DP did a similar thing - he was using the laptop on the bed and wanted a cuddle, so put the laptop on the floor at the side of him. Cue the entrance of DDog, who also likes a cuddle. Trouble is, the bed is too high for her and she tried to jump up but landed backwards straight onto the screen.

DP shouted at her, so I shouted at him - totally not her fault (albeit she shouldn't be jumping on the bed!). He's more careful now Grin

Admiralclingus · 19/01/2017 11:42

He gets really pissy when I moan about the plugs trailing across the room too! Now he knows why I nag!

I did similar, I swore at my own carelessness and tolerated having a laptop with broken hinges on the screen until I was in a position to replace.

No one's fault but his own.

BlackeyedSusan · 19/01/2017 11:53

some people have to learn the hard way.

NightWanderer · 19/01/2017 11:57

Is he expecting the cat to apologies? Going to dock the cat's pocket money? Make it do extra chores?

I doubt the cat gives a shit it is being blamed.

Admiralclingus · 19/01/2017 17:03

She was sat looking at him with meanie in her eyes when I came downstairs tbh. Maybe he'd already had the "you'll get less biscuits" conversation with her...

You'd also think he would have learned not to put breakable stuff in stupid places... but no! I've come home and his work laptop is on the floor.

StillaChocoholic · 19/01/2017 18:15

Husband kicked my laptop on the floor by accident last week after I'd left it on the arm of the sofa. My own fault for leaving it there instead of putting it away

Admiralclingus · 19/01/2017 19:01

hilbil i pay extra for accidental damage caused by pets so fingers crossed they'll sort it! Well, that is if he actually calls them...

hilbil21 · 22/01/2017 00:25

Good stuff! One of the policies we dealt with even accidental damage by pets wasnt covered! Has he phoned them yet?

Admiralclingus · 22/01/2017 00:31

Nope still mooning about it. I'm far more stubborn than him so hell will freeze before I do it for him

OP posts:
Topseyt · 22/01/2017 00:46

I presume he is hoping that the cat will make the call?

hilbil21 · 22/01/2017 00:49

Stay strong lol. Its his own fault for leaving it in such a precarious position
