To love being a bus wanker?

I recently lost my driving licence due to Bipolar and qualified for a free bus pass.

I HATED it to start with. I have dreadful anxiety and found the whole thing horrendous. I hadn't caught a bus for about fifteen years and didn't have fond memories of it.

But after a few months I've settled into it. I get the bus into town three or four times a week. I chat to the (mostly elderly) fellow travellers, most of whom are lovely with fascinating stories. I get to look out the window at the beautiful countryside. I don't have to worry about filling up with petrol or remembering when the MOT is due.

I'm such a convert that I'll be right there on the frontline protesting when they inevitably want to cut the village services further.

Anyone else a bus wanker who loves it?

Tiggy - Want to now where this is. Asking on behalf of DS1 :o

Our local main bus service is run with 15 reg buses with WiFi and sockets - none of which ever work! It's a problem with the streetlites, rather than Arriva.

I used to get the bus a lot when I lived in London. I loved putting some music on my earphones and watching the city go by. Often when I listen to certain albums now, I get nostalgic memories about certain bus routes and late night journeys.

When DS fell off a bus (very minor bump and his own fault) my friend's bus obsessed DS's first excited question was 'Was it a Routemaster?!'
Which I found odd.
But don't get me started on trams 🤓

Disappointed as thread title lead me to expect amusing account of self abuse on vehicle. Damn Inbetweeners!
