In turning into my mother!

We had the weather report for snow. So what did I do?.... Went straight to the shop for bread and milk. I am turning into my mother!
Would like to know if anyone else has ever done something and thought the same I.e realised you were doing the same as your parent (s) and felt like you were turning into them?

My mum used to rant about teaspoons: if someone ever dared to get another one out of the drawer rather than wash, dry and re-use the mucky one she'd launch into a tirade about teaspoons taking over the house and why can't people just wash up and how many teaspoons does one family need etc etc etc. I used to wonder why she didn't just throw them all away and be done with it.
The other week I heard myself say that it was like death by teaspoons in our house and that I was going to put them all on eBay...

I also find myself saying things like, "I'm not a cleaner. I don't tidy up for a living. If I did I'd get paid for it," or, "I might as well just talk to a brick wall," and, "it says oxo on buses but they don't sell it!"

I am my mother.

I read all these with a smug grin, knowing I had turned out NOTHING like my mother......til I read about the teaspoons......oh god.....it has begun 😰

I am pretty sure I am not turning into my mother, both me and my sister display the same traits as our dad which is a relief as he was super patient whereas DM was violent, at times very nasty, remote, never played, and clinical (although she denies all this now). I will keep tabs on her well-used phrases to make sure they never slip out of my mouth now! Grin

Yep I can agree! Gems like "don't pick your nose, your eye will fall out", " take your coat off, you'll miss it when you go out", and my favourite when someone says that it hurts if I poke this bit of my anatomy " don't poke it then! "
We all do it eventually x
