To not really find this very funny? (Facebook related)

Have name changed for this.

I have an acquaintance, a guy on FB, who today was tagged in a few photos uploaded by his partner.

The photos were of their DD's dolls all in sexual positions scattered around her doll house. Doggy style, reverse cowgirl (god knows how I know that), a guy doll receiving oral sex and a "helping hand", and a girl doll receiving oral sex from a soft toy dog. All of the female dolls were naked in said positions.

The dad had apparently done it when tidying up his DDs toys and judging from the Facebook post his partner found it hilarious, as did a lot of her friends who commented on the photos.

She wrote that her DD hadn't asked her what the dolls were doing but "laughed and pointed them out" to her mum. The DD is about 5 or 6.

I don't really find it funny at all and it would horrify me if my DD woke up and saw her dolls in that way, I know their minds are innocent but at that age they (should) know where their private parts are and hence where a doll's private parts are, and I would imagine seeing one of their dolls stark naked legs apart with a dog in between them would be a bit confusing??

Or am I just being a prude and overreacting ?

This makes me feel a bit sick. It's the level of immaturity not just the weird sense of humour. It's very childish. My DH just wouldn't go there. I'd be very most likely unfollowing or defriending. It's like why do they think up they stuff, sex on the brain, are they perverts? I still feel very gross about it. Imagine a stranger visiting the house and they'd forgot to put the dolls back to normal? How do you explain that level of weirdness? If I went to a mummy friends house and saw anything of the sort I'd be out of there fast.

MontePulciana · 11/01/2017 19:56

Agree User892

Gateway porn that's it. I'm mortified thinking about it. I'm worried about what's going on in that head of his for him to do this and let his child see.

Rixera · 11/01/2017 19:57

Me too, MontePulciana.
Would probably keep a close eye on them/ report if I was feeling twitchy. That's how I used to play with my dolls as an abused child.

Lelloteddy · 11/01/2017 20:01

Weird and creepy behaviour.

user892 · 11/01/2017 20:03

It would maybe trigger safeguarding procedures if she did the same in school!

Sirona · 11/01/2017 20:08

I've had the odd childish giggle to myself in some of the positions dd's barbies are left in after she climbs out of the bath but they aren't strategically placed by any of us, just the positions they happen in once the water's let out.

Would a school or nursery have a duty of care to report anything like that if a child repeated it there? I'm sure it would raise questions at least.

DesignedForLife · 11/01/2017 20:13

Going by the safeguarding courses I've been on it would be noted and probably reported.

Better ban pass the pig.

ReasonsToBeModeratelyHappy · 11/01/2017 20:18

It's a bit like those TV ads, with the builders and 'strutters' who wave their bums at on another, thrust, and spank themselves and others (oh, and there's some pole dancing in there..).
I know it's intended to be funny, and late at night it's prob ok, but am i the only person who doesn't think it's appropriate behaviour for little kids to watch and possibly imitate?

I thought they'd die out naturally quite quickly, but they seem to keep making new ones :-/

ChicRock · 11/01/2017 20:19

Creepy as fuck.

Squiff85 · 11/01/2017 20:21

Mildly amusing, once, between adults. Not for kids to see or for FB!

Rixera · 11/01/2017 20:22

Designedforlife, that's really good. Stops potential problems slipping through the net :)

RortyCrankle · 11/01/2017 20:27

Honestly, what is wrong with some people that they do stuff like this. It's not funny, it's immature and totally inappropriate if there are children nearby.

bummymummy77 · 11/01/2017 20:27

A father doing that for his daughter to find is really nasty. Creepy bastard.

SarcasmMode · 11/01/2017 20:32

If he had done it but the DD hadn't seen it I'd just find it cringey to be honest.

As the DD saw it I think it's highly inappropriate and not funny.

I used to get my dolls to have sex at about 9 or 10 --kiss and lay on top
P of each other-- but this is one odd dude.

The fact they'd think to post it on FB is just urgh.

I'll never complain about darling Joeykind first poo in the toilet posts again.

Earlgreywithmilk · 11/01/2017 20:35

Grin soubriquet - that chase toy even has a sex face! Il never look at him the same again!

BoomBoomsCousin · 11/01/2017 20:41

I would not be happy about it being left for my 5 or 6 year old to find. And I find as I get older I'm becoming lass and less tolerant of sex being constantly portrayed with a male gaze (which is even worse when it's a girl's set of toys being used somehow, and when it's left for a girl to find). But other than that I could find it quite funny.

MontePulciana · 11/01/2017 20:42

Can you still see the original post OP? Is it worth a nudge or comment saying it's inappropriate? I think I'd need to!

MontePulciana · 11/01/2017 20:42

*original fb post that is

SarcasmMode · 11/01/2017 20:44

Tbh I'd probably just block them.

I do have friends with dark / twisted / raunchy sense of humours but that's fine as their jokes are about adults and don't usually cross any extreme boundaries.

It's the DD seeing it really. What if she sets her friends dollies out like that on a play date?

Just no.

whattheseithakasmean · 11/01/2017 20:46

I wouldn't find it funny and thank goodness neither would my DH. That is as strongly as I can feel on the subject. Not for me, but some people enjoy an immature snigger.

SuperTrumper · 11/01/2017 20:53

Monte, I don't think I know him well enough to say anything to be honest (I know I know, why are you FB friends - I'm due a cull of my friends list soon).

Plus I think they'd go on the defensive; the fact that they found so many likeminded people that thought it was funny would probably translate to them that the photos are fine

OP posts:
zukiecat · 11/01/2017 22:14

I think it's disgraceful and horrible

I would be unfriending and if I was in a relationship with a man who did this (divorced and my DDS are 25 and 23) it would be a deal breaker for me

acquiescence · 11/01/2017 23:10

If the child starts replicating that with dolls at school then the teacher is likely to suspect there could be abuse taking place and alert social services. I know this sounds a little over the top but this sort of thing is a key indicator of sexualised behaviour - a child should not be aware of sexual positions.

SusanTrinder · 11/01/2017 23:17

Primary school teacher here.

If a child mentioned this in my class, I'd be duty bound to report it.

Rixera · 12/01/2017 00:57

So glad. Not over the top imo acquiescence, if teachers had reported me doing the same as a child I probably wouldn't have been abused for so long.

That's the creepiest thing about this, it's involving the daughter in sexual stuff she shouldn't have to be aware of. Its worrying what else might be going on behind closed doors, the likes on fb being interpreted as tacit approval. And the little girl, lacking the vocabulary to explain what she's mimicking or how it upsets her, will just be stuck.
Makes me feel very ill.
