Just to see exactly how much there is lost?

I have a new cup so I'm a bit intrigued by it all. Does anyone else have a FemmyCycle? It's a shit name but it's a special 'low cervix' version for fat old people with a falling out uterus.

Anyway. Having taken to bleeding what feels like 4 litres every month I'd like to know how much it really is so propose a bit of a collection.

21.00

8ml

And that appears to be it.

Total 68ml.

A very very light month for me. I sincerely hope that can be my new normal. Will measure again next month.

Thanks to everyone who encouraged me to make a gp's appt. appt was on Monday, blood test same day, results back today. I am anaemic with Hb of 9.3 and ferretin of 3. Gynae exam is booked and iron tablets have been issued. I am looking forward to feeling better soon.

LaContessaDiPlump · 19/01/2017 13:55

Gosh Bertie - Dr Google says you should have minimum Hb at 12g/decilitre and minimum ferritin at 18 mcg/l!! Very glad you got seen to so quickly and I'm sure you will start to feel better sharpish. Mind you don't take the iron tablets with tea, they will be less effective (polyphenols in tea bind iron I believe).

In the spirit of this thread, I have been measuring my own volumes (annoyingly, last period was 23-26 Dec and was perfectly heavy so fuck knows what's going on). I have produced a total of 54ml so far, which seems quite light compared to usual.

Is there some sort of condition associated with 'drip-drip-drip-FLOOD-drip-drip-drip' periods? Someone upthread said they had this, and so do I.

ExplodedCloud · 19/01/2017 14:12

3?! HTF are you upright? Glad you're being treated now and hope you feel better soon Bertie

TheSpottedZebra · 19/01/2017 19:09

Bloody hell, Bertie ! I'm very glad that you went to Dr's, and we're I deed taken seriously. I hope you're feeling better very soon.

Bad typing, but you know what I meant Grin

This thread is fascinating. I am breastfeeding and still haven't regained periods. Admittedly I'm very happy about this as I was soaking through a super tampon within an hour for the first couple of days. That aside I have been considering getting a menstrual cup and am now motivated to do so!

Thanks also for the info on here as I got severely anaemic with two of my pregnancies (iron level 4.3 in one and 7.9 in another) so I'm also we now going to minor signs of anemia when periods return as I seem to be prone to dropping iron.

Bertie I'm glad you got checked out as my flow is heavy but my goodness I look light compared to you.

Moist - thanks for starting this thread
