Does anyone remember this series? It was shown in the 90's on BBC when I was a child.
It tackles some very adult (and topical) issues in a suitable way for children and is dramatic and funny. My girls got it for xmas and they are gripped!

Down at the bottom of the garden, amoungst the birds and the bees, a little lot of little people people......their called the poddington peas. Loved all the shows mentioned, I'd forgotten all about The City of Gold. I'm going to buy Farthing Wood on DVD for DC!

WeeWaspie · 11/01/2017 18:39

WilliamHerschel essentially it was a green bunny in space fighting toads. Sounds a load of tosh but it had the best theme song:

Oh I remember wishbone! They don't make kids TV the same any more Sad

EsmesBees · 11/01/2017 19:26

Oh I loved the Animals of Farthing Wood. The episode when they cross the motorway traumatised me. I read all of Colin Dann's books as a result.

I also remember Pugwall! I can hear the theme tune in my head 'nobody tells me what to do, no NOT me'.

Rixera · 11/01/2017 19:32

Does anyone else remember Noah's Island? That was emotional stuff.

IRegretNothing · 11/01/2017 19:33

Esmes Do you remember that song that Jenny sang, "There's no reason why you keep hurting me... There's no reason why, no no reason why.." It's like going back in time regret! Of course I remember it. I also remember them singing a song to the little sister 'Marmaloid- Don't Call me that!'

Anyone remember a show about an American summer camp called Bug Juice? I wanted nothing more than to go away for the summer, swim, share a cabin and go to dances with the boys.

We also had the very glitchy Animals of Farthing Wood PC game. I thought the Demon Headmaster books would have aged (The Octopussy computer one especially) but my youngest son loves them. Wishbone was so cute.

My eldest used to love Ghost Hunter (with Rose from the Upstairs Downstairs). She also loved Jeopardy (from around 2002 I think)about Scottish schoollkids who win a trip to the outback in Australia and video everything and things get scary. They used to make really good children's TV - no budget now.

My kids used to like beoing off ill so we could watch CH4 or BBc schools tv (remember that) some great programmes. I endede up taping them so they could watch when they got home - Through the Dragon's Eye, Spywatch and The Odyssey (Bookbox) were particular favourites.

Soubriquet · 11/01/2017 21:26

I thought it was hibou

Thank you! I loved that program
