Not only have they stopped producing my most favourite chocolate in the world (Cadbury's Creme Eggs with nice chocolate), they're now bringing out a bloody Oreo version! Angry Cadbury's have ruined Easter! Sad

LTB!

Hmm
Blu · 10/01/2017 22:22

Yuk.
But the identity of Cadbuy's as the good old British chocolate that we all loved has been gone for a long time. We didn't eat one item of Cadbury's this Christmas, or last Easter. It is all disgusting. We now eat Lindt, Aldi (the whatsit Moser brand), M&S own brand 'artisan' , and Celebrations have replaced Roses.

A fine old brand sweetened, gunked up and vulgarised.

Blu · 10/01/2017 22:24

I like Tradbury's !

OnWiganPierWithNoUmbrella · 10/01/2017 22:24

Terrible also what Mondelez has done to Toblerone bars and Chocolate Orange. Shrinking them by using less chocolate. Disgusting. Especially Terry's Choc Orange. That is good British institution they have messed with.

Silvercatowner · 10/01/2017 22:26

I miss Cadburys. Floofy chocolate has its place, but it isn't Cadburys.

OnWiganPierWithNoUmbrella · 10/01/2017 22:26

The saddest thing is Cadbury's, Terry.s Rowntrees etc were started by Quaker philanthrophists who would be horrified at how th epublic are being hoodwinked by substandard chocolates!

Potentialmadcatlady · 10/01/2017 22:28

Can I recommend tiffin, golden crunch and Freddos....Made in Irish factory and still taste like decent chocolate...

OnWiganPierWithNoUmbrella · 10/01/2017 22:28

I can't eat chocolate anymore since doing Overeaters Anon but it is the principle of the thing. Our children and grandchildren. Having substandard chocolate forced on them. :( We live in bad, bad times, people!

TheMysteriousJackelope · 10/01/2017 22:28

Hershey's chocolate tastes of vomit and Oreos are just pointless and vile.

OnWiganPierWithNoUmbrella · 10/01/2017 22:31

Hershey's has it's place in Reeses's Peanut Butter Cups but it cannot be compared to traditionalo British chocolate. Although I admit I did love Milka, Kinder and Ritter as well, so European Choc IMHO is also amazing

GabsAlot · 10/01/2017 22:32

Went to Cadburyworld at Christmas, bought a 1k Dairy Milk, it tasted just as it Should, really lovely. I wonder if tgey use the proper recipe for the Cadburys in their shop.

Soporific1 · 10/01/2017 22:34

I don't understand people that like chocolate!

OnWiganPierWithNoUmbrella · 10/01/2017 22:35

Cadbury's Mint Crisp still tatstes lovely Potentialmadcatlady. Some months ago I saw Cadbury's Top Deck in a South African shop. I remembered enjoying TD from my teenage years so bought it. It didn't taste anyhting like the same as the old British Top Deck ;(

CommunionHelp · 10/01/2017 22:36

I call it Crapburys now mature

Manumission · 10/01/2017 22:36

Fucking Globalisation Angry

ArcheryAnnie · 10/01/2017 22:40

The biggest cheats of all at the "golden oreos", aka "custard creams, only not as nice".

llangennith · 10/01/2017 22:40

Saw some Creme Eggs in Tesco at the weekend and for the first time ever I didn't think 'yummy'.
Never going to buy the adulterated version. Ever.

Potentialmadcatlady · 10/01/2017 22:42

Onwigan... Yes that one too- couldn't remember but knew there was a third bar that's made there as well.... When I see them I always buy three or four bars to stock up ( then eat them all in one go)

MargotLovedTom · 10/01/2017 22:44

Creme Eggs have always been disgusting. Claggy, sickly things.

MargotLovedTom · 10/01/2017 22:46

And Galaxy chocolate wiped the floor with Cadburys when they were both at their peak.

LifeBeginsNow · 10/01/2017 22:53

It does seem odd that when Cadburys was bought out they decided to change the recipes of all of the favourites. I guess their thinking is that they lose the old customers but the new (children) won't know any better and will think it's lovely.

It's helping me on my diet though. Not fussed by chocolate as much anymore as it does taste odd with a kind of greasy texture.

PlumsGalore · 10/01/2017 22:53

I do wonder whether cadburys profits have dropped since they started making horrible chocolate. People constantly report in the press how awful it is, yet nothing changes.
