I've never had a wax down there ( I think I'd be totally mortified) but like to keep the undercarriage smooth. The flipping hair grows back so quickly though! Anyone have any tips for keeping things spick and span without a contorted shaving session every morning?

Thanks in advance Grin

Patchouli, while I'm sure that advice is spot on and very useful to know, cling-wrapping your twat while slathered in prescription-only anaesthetic prior to ripping the hairs out of said twat sounds like a lot of effort for something that needs repeating many times a year.

Notso · 10/01/2017 22:12

If I shave, use hair removal cream or even trim I get an itchy, rash.
I had a wax once and it ripped off the skin just where the knicker elastic around the gusset touches the skin. I had to go commando for a week, and after all that I hated the feeling of a bald fanjo, I've never felt so sweaty and unhygienic down there.
So I have a natural bush. It's got a lot straighter as I've got older though so I think I might have to start trimming a bit but how do you stop the itching?

I don't have a clue what DH prefers, I've never asked. I assume because he doesn't remove any of his pubes he is happy with natural.

Ilovetorrentialrain · 10/01/2017 22:13

OP are there no other salons near you other than where your friend works? Wax is definitely the answer.

MycatsaPirate · 10/01/2017 22:14

I plait mine and then tie the plaits round my waist.

hungryhippo90 · 10/01/2017 22:14

Fuck it. This makes me realise what a minger I am.

I thought that when we became mums, we became fat, and when we became fat that all went out of the window?

Tell me I'm not the only one?i leave it about six months before I start trying to get rid of it, then the razors lost and it all gets a bit awkward?

Did I ever tell anyone about the time I used hard setting wax on my area? I melted a whole slab of it, and put it on my parts. Just smothered it. Let it set and tried to pull. Screamed in pain. I couldn't get it off!! So like an idiot I got in a warm bath. It melted a bit. Made it worse. Maybe that's why Im so lax with lady garden upkeep now?

PotatoVegetable · 10/01/2017 22:15

I have a permaculture approach.

shinynewusername · 10/01/2017 22:17

( I tried emla cream and the tubes are so tiny id need about 10 to cover my foof Don't use 10 tubes of EMLA on your foof. Believe it or not, there is a maximum safe dose and exceeding it can cause heart arrhythmias. Fascinating foof fact Wink )

I use a Braun exfoliator. I do have quite fine hair though - not sure if I'd be brave enough if I was a Baggins in the foof department.

Nemosnemsis · 10/01/2017 22:17

I guess this is unusual, but I epilate! It's not for the fainthearted, but I find waxing too messy/tricky, and shaving is just horrible with the regrowth.

Oblomov16 · 10/01/2017 22:17

Beard trimmer here aswell. Works just fine. Zero pain. Neat and tidy.

OvariesBeforeBrovaries · 10/01/2017 22:18

Full natural. Can't be doing with getting rid of it.

Minivaperviper · 10/01/2017 22:18

I don't maintain it regularly only if I think I'm getting action, on a night out or going for a swim. All these things don't happen often.

I just sort of shave it so it's a smaller bush and use the razor to trim the long bits.
Like hair dresser does when putting layer's in your hair.

I'm not overly hairy and I like a bush.

PotatoVegetable · 10/01/2017 22:18

I love you mycats

Notso · 10/01/2017 22:19

Oh I tried sugaring once as a teen using a recipe from Just 17 or something. I don't think I boiled the sugar long enough because it was like slathering warm golden syrup on my minge, also I couldn't get muslin as it suggested so used an old sweatshirt.
I ended up with a sticky bush covered red fluff from the sweatshirt and I wrecked my Mums milk pan Hmm

picklemepopcorn · 10/01/2017 22:19

Au naturel. Am a bit Hmm that the world thinks it is imperative to remove it all. Don't get me wrong, if it crept down my legs I'd sort it, but while it is inside my underwear I leave it well alone.

DramaAlpaca · 10/01/2017 22:20

I water it daily and prune as necessary.

TheProblemOfSusan · 10/01/2017 22:22

I have a lovely natural 70s style lady moorland instead of a neat lady garden. I am fairly lucky in that, whilst wild and free, it is naturally bijou and so not unkempt.

But if I'm going swimming with people I actually know I have at it with scissors to mow it down, then make sure I only buy sensible large bikini bottoms!

lifeisazebracrossing · 10/01/2017 22:24

Grin drama

** I shave it off once a week.

ZouBisou · 10/01/2017 22:25
  • Shave the undercarriage every couple of days in shower, takes seconds
  • Trim the general hair with scissors or lady shave on trim setting, probably once or twice a month
  • Hair removal cream to get rid of a bit more around the edges, but only generally before going on holiday or other bikini-wearing occasion, so not very often .
ChocoChou · 10/01/2017 22:25

Mortificado if you're in London you should get a wax at the ministry of waxing. Best wax I've EVER had and I've had a fair few in a fair few diff countries!

OP. I bought a Philips lumea but it's a let down imo. I'm considering splashing out on salon laser removal but it's so expensive (especially after the waste of money lumea)

elQuintoConyo · 10/01/2017 22:26

Notso Grin

I have goats which nibble mine away once a fortnight. I sprinkle it with rosemary first, they seem to like that.

QueenMortificado · 10/01/2017 22:26

ChocoChau I will go anywhere for the best wax, would rather pay the extra £££

Have you been to Strip in Soho? Is Ministry of Wax better than there?

ChocoChou · 10/01/2017 22:30

Mortificado I've not tried strip!
I went to the ministry of waxing on south Molton street. Def worth a trip. I left feeling as soft as a bag of kittens!

PabloEscobarReallyLovesHisKids · 10/01/2017 22:30

I use removal cream every few months.
I can't do it more frequently than that as it takes that long for the swelling and pain to go away.

QueenMortificado · 10/01/2017 22:35

Thanks Choco, some friends recommended Strip so I'll definitely give one or other the go

I like the sound of being soft as kittens!

Mamatallica · 10/01/2017 22:35

I used to use hair removal cream when I was young, slim and dating but now that I'm middle aged and married I just use DH's old beard trimmer on the shortest setting. I can highly recommend it, trims nice and neat with no pain, no itching, no swelling or redness or anything, I wish I'd found this solution years ago, it's very cheap too!
