To think Boden shouldn't use "war medals" as a fashion print?

Got their latest catalogue and was a bit shocked to see lots of prints like this one

Agree, in poor taste

IfartInYourGeneralDirection · 10/01/2017 07:43

The biggest crime is the prices they charge for their hideous clothes.

Mumteedum · 10/01/2017 07:44

Yanbu. Weird and inappropriate

Cakescakescakes · 10/01/2017 07:46

It's on some of the kids clothes too

NotTodaySatan · 10/01/2017 07:48

That is utterly utterly hideous Shock.

meditrina · 10/01/2017 07:49

I don't like it, but no reason why they shouldn't do it (in case someone does like it). It's not as if they can be mistaken for the real thing.

What's worse is describing a knee-length dress as a midi.

Allatseainthemidlands · 10/01/2017 07:53

I agree - I think this is in really poor taste- and - incidentally- also very ugly.

WanderingTrolley1 · 10/01/2017 08:00

Yanbu.

PotatoVegetable · 10/01/2017 08:00

This came up on my fb feed a few days ago and I thought it was in very poor taste too.

JellyMouldJnr · 10/01/2017 08:00

I think this is much less inappropriate than boys' clothes with camouflage patterns or pictures of guns, which seems fairly common.

Pluto30 · 10/01/2017 08:04

I think getting offended on behalf of others is pretty useless, and I'm assuming that's what you're doing here.

If vets have a problem with it, it's for them to speak out about it.

AddToBasket · 10/01/2017 08:07

Agree with Pluto.

This is in the 'tiresomely taking offence' bracket. Objecting to this kind of stuff is so overly sanctimonious.

Get a life! You don't have to buy the stuff? I assume you don't actually think the your MBE or Victoria Cross are somehow diminished..?

BertrandRussell · 10/01/2017 08:09

Now what is it people say when I object to things that are sexist? Oh yes. You are being "preofessionally offended" and "overthinking".

BertrandRussell · 10/01/2017 08:11

Or hen I object to pictures of guns on boy's clothes and pictures of lipsticks on girls'?

TrojanWhore · 10/01/2017 08:13

I thought the objection was to 'war medals' and therefore glorifying war.

Nothing to do with veterans

Penfold007 · 10/01/2017 08:14

OP why do you assume they are war medals?

Miserylovescompany2 · 10/01/2017 08:32

Do some folk awaken looking for something to moan about? It's a print on a fabric, if you don't like it, don't buy it. Simple. Are you even 100% sure they medals are war ones? If they were covered in swastikas that would be offensive...

Miserylovescompany2 · 10/01/2017 08:43

They are quite possibly medals given to the police, fire service, ambulance service etc. These people risk their lives to protect others....

PollyPerky · 10/01/2017 08:45

why is it in poor taste? No one can mistake it for the real thing.
There are a hell of a lot worse things printed onto clothes.

Market forces prevail darling- people will or won't buy and Boden will suffer a loss if they don't sell.

Bluntness100 · 10/01/2017 08:49

It's a horrible dress, but I don't see the offence, they are not taking the piss out of war medals or veterans and they will hardly be mistaken for being real. So no I don't see the issue,

Maudlinmaud · 10/01/2017 08:49

I quite like it. Is it not the same as wearing a poppy?

theaveragewife · 10/01/2017 08:50

It is hideous.

Fallonjamie · 10/01/2017 08:51

God their clothes are shite.
