1.The Tories are planning to drive us off a cliff edge?

  1. I don't recognise the open country I have spent the last four decades in?
  2. Brexit is going to cause an economic hit when we have already been hit and don't need to be hit any more thank you?
  3. Not THAT many people seem worried enough about the above to do anything? (with honourable exceptions). My (intelligent) friends are posting on FB "Which Little Miss Character am I?" quizzes, whilst I feel permanently incredulous and scared at what is happening to my country?
Mods - please don't move this to the EU ref corner - it is not just for the active Leavers and Remainers to answer - it would be interesting to have some views from the middlies TIA Thanks

No I mean you had a pop at them on here, which shows the way you are thinking.

Basically, you appear to be saying you can't be worried about brexit and spend some leisure time on Facebook, and I'm not even sure what their intelligence has to do with anything.

Fight your fight and good luck to you, but don't alienate people with your way of thinking.

We've been told for years that austerity would be happening.. We've had stage one, of many..and it's crippling to certain members of society, to others maybe un-noticeable. We've been warned austerity might last 100 years! Go figure.

don't alienate people with your way of thinking

I don't tend to tbh. I am obviously good at hiding my wicked thoughts Hmm

However if I do not get off Mumsnet and go to bed, I will probably alienate a lot of people in work at 8 tomorrow..

1, Wrong
2 Why?
3 Says who?
4 Not everyone who voted to leave is worried.

MammaTJ · 09/01/2017 23:40

The only thing I will comment on is that you seem to have friends who are 'hard of thinking', in that they are only interested in which little miss they are. You need to be more choosy in your friends.

You will find life a lot less frustrating then.

I have friends I don't necessarily agree with but at least they have well thought out arguments. I can live with that.

TheNaze73 · 09/01/2017 23:47

I was a remainer & campaigned for it too, however in answer to your questions....

  1. No they're not
  2. what's your angle?
  3. I think it's Lib Dems saying that. They have 9 MPs so are virtually irrelevant
  4. I'm more worried about Syria & Russia. The world is a better & safer place than it was in any given time in history
CockacidalManiac · 09/01/2017 23:51

The Tories are proper bastards; always have been.
Who do we have to combat them? Comrade Cockwomble Corbyn, unfortunately. Just when even the DM is giving the government a hard time about the NHS, he decides he's going to announce he's Mr Brexit. Talk about fucking up momentum.

CockacidalManiac · 09/01/2017 23:52

And OP, I persona agree with every word of your opening post. Every word.

Expellibramus · 09/01/2017 23:53

Like what?

Written to M.P, MEPS, Lords, met with M.P, formed a local pro- EU group that has a weekly stall in our town centre, been on three marches, joined the Lib dems and started to get involved locally despite being a political novice, written to local papers, national papers, written a report for the Government on the benefits of Erasmus, signed more petitions than I've had hot dinners, bored my friends and family to death...

Perfect answer, OP Star

CockacidalManiac · 09/01/2017 23:55

Like you, OP, I'm going to the LibDems.
And I've been in the Labour Party since 1986.

RandomHouseRules · 09/01/2017 23:57

YANBU and YAN alone.

TheWoodlander · 10/01/2017 00:02

I agree with too OP.

There was a post on my Twitter tonight: Anyone else feel like they're trapped in a car driving off a cliff due to a show of hands?

And I thought Yup. I do.
