neighbour using my drive when I'm out.

I came home early this morning just after 11am as i have had a chest infection since before Xmas and was struggling at work.
When I got home there were two cars on my drive, one park almost touching my front window and the other one at an angle beside it.
This is the only way to get two cars on the driveway so whoever it was parking there must know the driveway well and how to get two cars on it.
Outside on the road is permit parking and no parking between 10 and 12am.
This is to stop commuters and shoppers parking as we are five minutes from a huge indoor shopping centre.
I had to park behind them blocking them in and blocking the pavement also.
I left a note on my car for the traffic warden
Please knock on door as I have to obstruct the pavement due to two illegally parked cars on my drive.
half an hour later my next door neighbour in his 70's who we NEVER see knocks on my door.
Totally unapologetic and says one car belongs to his wife's carer as she cant park on the road due to restrictions and the other is a neighbour from up the road who uses our driveway when we are at work as her driveway is not big enough.
Even though I was fuming he still just didnt seen to think it was a problem even saying.
Well when your at work your not using it and at least it makes it look like some one is home.
I told him to get them moved straight away.
The carer came round looking really sheepish and asked would I mind if she parked during the restrictions between 10 and 12 as she has been given a ticket in the past. I said fine if no one is in but why cant my neighbour move his car off his drive to enable his wife's carers to park. He cant afford £40 a year to pay for a permit for his carers?
The other car nearly touching my front window is still there so I have put a not on it.
Caroline, I have reported your car to the police as an abandoned vehicle. Since then Nicholas has told me he gave you permission to park here. Nicholas has no business or authority to use our driveway. It would have been polite and neighbourly to at least have asked permission. If your car is parked on my driveway again I will be reporting you to the police.
Tomorrow if I am feeling better I am off the B&Q to buy a chain and paddlock so they cant use my drive!

My auntie works in a fancy dress shop. I'm sure she will give us a hefty discount on penguin costumes. Grin I can also borrow some guns and big dogs.

I must admit dh would have just towed her and left the car in the middle of the road.

CasparMum · 10/01/2017 09:45

Where is sheeee?
Can't believe it, 38 pages and still no Caroline
Shamelessly place marking

redpriestandmozart · 10/01/2017 09:46

55 messages left to find the answer, who is starting 'Caroline stole my drive/2'?

It MUST be the OP so we can follow OP posts on the thread, hate not beeing able to use this feature when somebody else starts new thread.

OP start new thread now so we can hope over when this one fills up!!

Tastesjustlikecherrycola85 · 10/01/2017 09:46

Place marking

BubbleFairy · 10/01/2017 09:46

It needs to be OP starting the next thread, or else the updates will not be highlighted!

BlackCatsRule · 10/01/2017 09:50

I think Nicholas needs to go around with you to Caroline to introduce her!!

StarrySparkles · 10/01/2017 09:53

Placemarking so i can finish reading the thread when ds goes for his sleep Grin

Nanna50 · 10/01/2017 09:54

Caroline is just going to wait this out until you have to move your car. Its nearly permit time please get to the GP and back before 12!

CoraPirbright · 10/01/2017 09:55

Yes! Bang on Nicholas' door and demand to know which house Caroline is lurking in. Then go and confront. And report back, obviously. Grin

birdladyfromhomealone · 10/01/2017 09:56

I have had enough now I think I will get dressed and go round and see Nicholarse before I go to the doctors.
Trouble is I'm getting stressed just the thought of going round. I am the least confrontational person going.
In my head I'm kicking off saying this and that but when it comes to it I say nothing.
I have had someone on the other forum accuse me of making this up?
What would be the point?

The area we live in is liberally sprinkled with Carolines.

There is no permit parking or shopping centre though, so I doubt whether I could help you locate your specific Caroline.

Good luck at the Drs. You should definitely take a taxi Wink.

PeppaIsMyHero · 10/01/2017 09:59

I love the idea that a) someone would get cross about OP possibly having made this up, and b) that someone would think that OP would bother to make this up!

OP, it might be worth going to visit Caroline and having a chat about it? Just ask her not to do it again.

TheMaddHugger · 10/01/2017 09:59

would love a link to that other forum. Just saying [looks around all innocent.. like]

CoraPirbright · 10/01/2017 10:00

Not sure you really need to be confrontational. Ring Caroline's doorbell and say "hello, I live at number X" and then go silent and just look at her! Or send Nicholarse to go and fetch her and then watch her silently from your door step as she moves her bloody car!!

TrickyD · 10/01/2017 10:01

I know you, quite rightly, don't want to do anything which could count as criminal danage, but Vaseline, honey, lipstick or similar on her windscreen would do no harm, but might delay the big C until you return from doc's. Also, just in case she does escape, make sure you have noted her registration no. so you can spot her car in her drive (and park on it).

birdladyfromhomealone · 10/01/2017 10:01

Nicolarse would be an ideal daily Fail candidate so hope he sees this!!
Does it get printed in the actual newspaper?

This is so gripping.

I need penguin bollards. No reason - I just do.

I also need a life.

MissJSays · 10/01/2017 10:03

OP just fake it till you make it! They don't know you're quivering in your boots. They're the ones in the wrong! You've got almost 1000 people on here telling you they're in the wrong.

Go round there and do us proud! I kinda wish I could go round there and do it for you!

zen1 · 10/01/2017 10:04

OP, start another thread and link to it on here before this one fills up.

Toofewshoes · 10/01/2017 10:04

Shocking. But brilliant thread. We used to have a neighbour who thought it was fine to block our car in by parking over our drive if there were no other spaces in the small narrow road. Almost everytime I went out I had to knock to ask him to move it. I had repeatedly told him it was really annoying. In the end he stopped when I was pregnant as I told him if I didn't want to have the baby on his doorstep waiting for him to come and move his car. Then when we had our DS he did stop as obviously it was bloody inconvenient with a small baby.

twocockersarebetterthanone · 10/01/2017 10:05

How come I've invested so much time in reading about someone else's parking problems 🤣🤣. Gripping stuff though 😊

alwaysthepessimist · 10/01/2017 10:07

@birdladyfromhomealone tell us where you live - I bet one of us could rive you to the docs, or better still one of us could block Caroline in and keep her from moving her car once you leave!

Oh and start a new thread please!

pho3be · 10/01/2017 10:09

If you do, could you link to it on this one before it fills up? Ty
