To ask for your help with a book

Please help me.
I am trying to remember the name of a certain book that I enjoyed but I can't think what it is called or
Who wrote it.
It's basically a kind of chick lit, the main characters husband and children die in a car accident in the first few chapters and it turns out it's a girl writing a script for a novel to try and find her mum or something!
Anybody??
