Emergency GP Appointment for this?

I've had a swollen lymph node for about six months (I forgot about it for good five and a half months). As soon as I realised it was still there I booked a normal GP appointment (next week). I wasn't too worried apart as I've had lots of blood tests for crushing fatigue and they all came back (last set were four months ago).

Just found another swelling under my left rib cage - which is more swelling and hard (like a semi-deflated tennis ball). Feels uncomfortable in that area but not overly painful.

Do I just stick out the wait until my actual appointment or do I go to one of their emergency clinics and ask to be examined? Kind of frightened I may just need to calm down a bit.

GP appointment straight away tomorrow. But why have you forgotten about it? What a soft thing to do

They all came back fine - the blood tests.

I would phone for an emergency appt (probably get flamed for that) but a week is a long time. Hope its nothing serious x

Does your surgery not allow you to call up on the day to get an appointment on that day. Our does and you can get an appointment if you call at the right time. They are urgent appointments but you can also go and wait at 5pn which are emergency appointments. I would have said yours would def qualify for an urgent appointment. They're supposed to give one within 24hours I'm sure x

Bravo my partner has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumour - completely out of the blue and many things were forgotten about. At the time i thought it was swollen because I'd been unwell. I just didn't realise it hadn't gone away.

Thank you - have got an appointment with my usual GP on Monday (they've opened up an emergency slot for me early). It was that or seeing a loccum on Friday - as my GP knows the whole story I felt I would be more comfortable with that.

They did say if I start to feel unwell to go in at anytime though beforehand.

I'd be seen asap (I'm a GP and would be happy to see this as an emergency appointment). Blood tests don't always exclude causes of fatigue. Most lumps and swellings are harmless but should be checked out anyway. Have you had any sweats, unexplained fever or weight loss?

I've had weight loss (which my GP knows about), but things have been quite stressful recently. Not had fevers or sweats - I am more constantly freezing (again, GP knew about this as well).

I'm sure it's nothing, think it's just what has happened with my partner that has freaked me out.
