To think this shower gel is not rude and they are being ridiculous

It's a Sun link, sorry: thesun.uk/61898OEwv

Basically some grandparents are outraged about the instructions on a bottle of Lush shower gel which they bought their granddaughter for Christmas.

They are being ridiculous, no?

fluttering back to our shelves this season, Little Snow Fairy is a treat for all ages! Lather up with Snow Fairy Shower Gel for super soft skin that's been kissed with sweetness or get in the tub with Snow Fairy Fun and create your own Snow Fairy that you can use as shampoo, soap, toy or crumble it under running water for mounds and mounds of the sweetest bubbles for your bath.
That sounds more like a product aimed at kids than adults to me?

No, that's the sort of stuff they write about loads of their products. I used to work for Lush a while back. If it were specifically for kids, it would say so. I agree that they should take care though because even if the product is not marketed at kids, a lot of kids do buy it and they have a lot of pre-teen customers who shouldn't really be told to invite someone they really like into the shower with them.

Load of shite about 'compo' though - of course no one is going to get compensation, what would they be being compensated for?! I expect the man complained as he felt the instructions were inappropriate on a product aimed at children, which if it is it was. I doubt he thought he would be getting compensation.

Birdsgottafly · 02/01/2017 20:15

I'm 48 and it's one of the only places that I buy 'beauty' gifts from, because of their commitment to being Vegan and recyclable.

It isn't aimed at children, or 'youngsters', it's for Adults, who also enjoy the marketing that they use.

I buy my GD (2) the wands and the putty. She baths with her Mum, who uses the products.

I'm sick of everything starting to be child friendly.

LilQueenie · 02/01/2017 20:17

I think compensation is meant by the money paid by the newspapers for the story.

I for one am extremely impressed at the quality of sad face poses the British public are now able to perform. This one was outstanding. This is the sort of thing that will surely make Britain great again.

Greatblue0wl · 02/01/2017 20:24

Richard says he was so upset he broke the habit of a lifetime and decided to contact the chain’s HQ to complain.

And also contact The Sun? I think Richard has compained before Smile

Rachel0Greep · 02/01/2017 20:29

I happened to pick up the bottle and was reading aloud how to use it.

Who has EVER done this?

Exactly! Personally, I don't buy bath products for kids. I think they usually would be using something that suits their skin, picked by their parents. Lush isn't somewhere I shop anyway.
And I agree, they could say it meant ask your mother, I'm sure the child would have thought no more about it.

Top marks for the sad face though Grin

AVirginLitTheCandle · 02/01/2017 20:30

Polkadots I don't remember the exact wording but it's basically something about rubbing their wobbly bits over your wobbly bits in the shower. Not really a big deal but if you find what's written on the shower gel inappropriate then that might give you a heart attack Wink

AVirginLitTheCandle · 02/01/2017 20:32

Lush also do a bath bomb called sex bomb that's pink and has a little flower in the middle. Don't tell Tracey and Richard that though. That will really push them over the edge Wink

Simonneilsbeard · 02/01/2017 20:35

Yes the jelly usually says rub our wobbly bits over your wobbly bits.
I'm not bothered..I still let my kids use it. In fact i don't use anything else. It's soap ffs!
This is all a bit precious..I really don't think a child would understand the sexual connotations and an older teenager would just laugh it off or ignore it.

TheCatsMother99 · 02/01/2017 20:35

Compo face is certainly strong on this one.

What a nobber. Who needs to read how to use shower gel, what child reads shower gel labels, let alone the fact that the whole shop isn't aimed at kids!

MeetTheMartian · 02/01/2017 20:36

Tbh she can't have used that many of their products or ever read said instructions before because all Lush products instructions are on similar lines.

And TBH who needs instructions for a shower gel???
I took that as being very sarcastic and a joke.

CatsRidingRollercoasters · 02/01/2017 20:43

Just back from the bathroom where I have been reading aloud the labels on the Radox and the TreSemme. Not a smutty innuendo to be found. My shower is so boring.

Also I could really do with a payout from the Sun to help recover from Christmas. Dammit.
