To think this shower gel is not rude and they are being ridiculous

It's a Sun link, sorry: thesun.uk/61898OEwv

Basically some grandparents are outraged about the instructions on a bottle of Lush shower gel which they bought their granddaughter for Christmas.

They are being ridiculous, no?

I like the cheeky messages in Lush products. Maybe they should review putting that on a child's product, but for goodness sajes some people love to complain.

LilQueenie · 02/01/2017 19:08

and since then a load of others have complained of their kids doing the same despite the message being there for years on other gels too. There was also someone complaining about the other part at the bottom which states 'not virgin' and not understanding what it meant. Well not hard to figure out. Its a recycled material but hey lets wait till they boycott virgin olive oils in the supermarkets too. Chancers out for money more like.

Think I need to name change Xmas Confused

EccentricPickle · 02/01/2017 19:09

Richard says he was so upset he broke the habit of a lifetime and decided to contact the chain’s HQ to complain.

Poor old Richard needs to get a grip!

That1950sMum · 02/01/2017 19:09

Genius sad face!

Other than that a ridiculous story. It is not made for children and isn't really rude. Slow news day at the Sun obviously Grin

FrankieGoesToHolyrood · 02/01/2017 19:10

If this is a product specifically aimed at kids then it's totally inappropriate

If it's for adults then fair enough, it's light hearted

itsallbollocks · 02/01/2017 19:10

If it's a product aimed at children, maybe it should say: "ask a parent or guardian if you don't know how to use soap". I don't know why they need to put anything like that on the bottle though. :/

CatsRidingRollercoasters · 02/01/2017 19:10

Exactly - this is a non issue and could have been easily explained away to the child.

Now of course it will be a massive issue because they'll have to explain it to the child because of their sad face compo chasing ways.

I love snow fairy! Lots of adults do.
Also, most adults wouldn't buy it for kids given the price.

SaucyJack · 02/01/2017 19:11

It's not appropriate for a child's product.

Lush need to be clearer on their target audiences for individual products.

Letmesleepalready · 02/01/2017 19:11

I thought it was funny, when I received it but I'm an adult. I wouldn't have found it appropriate for a child though.

ThisIsStartingToBoreMe · 02/01/2017 19:11

Why is it rude? There is nothing rude about having a shower with someone else, it's done all the time in public swimming pools.

PossumInAPearTree · 02/01/2017 19:12

I don't think it's aimed at children. I know the granny says one manager said so but I suspect she may be twisting what he said. Lush is quite expensive and seems popular with students and young adults (and me). Mr Matey is a children's product.

EccentricPickle · 02/01/2017 19:12

I don't think that the shower gel is aimed at kids. The putty might be but that's a different product, I think.

The product in the article is the shower gel.

LilQueenie · 02/01/2017 19:13

Its never been a kids item. There are a couple bath melts that are. babybot being one and a bear thing is the other. The mouldable soap is great for kids but is was also a way of making a product that didnt need as much packaging. Lush are good at that.

I really doubt this product is aimed at kids. It's a blatantly sexually suggestive message, I can't imagine the company would have put it on a product marketed for children.

(I wouldn't have gone to the DM about it, though Hmm)

I agree with Hecate

Floofborksnootandboop · 02/01/2017 19:30

It's 100% not a child's product.

Nothing from Lush is, or ever has been, aimed at children.

AVirginLitTheCandle · 02/01/2017 19:33

All of the Lush shower gels have that written on them. It's not as if Lush decided to stick together a kids gift set and thought to themselves "ha ha let's stick this saucy message in there just for the lulz".

If you think this is inappropriate then might I suggest you don't read what's written on the shower jellies...

Lush isn't for kids, much too expensive.
It's for grown child-people obviously.

Jokes! I love Lush! Compo face needs to get a grip.

NotYoda · 02/01/2017 19:35

I think I may be getting a bit old

Lush is a really smelly place that I think teengaers would be attracted to

And I like sex but I don't need it shoehorned into every bit of life
