If anyone is so interested, there is a Twitter account @Highgatemums, following the "super posh" Mothers of Highgate.

HERE is a snippet.

Grin at porridge not being just for the poor. I'm extremely poor and hate porridge. I also have a TV, and carpets.

These are the kind of folk I love to hate!

I lived near Highgate for 12 years and never heard anything like this. Either I'm really unobservant, things have changed since I moved away or it's all made up.

If you've ever been to Highgate you'll know these are not fictional!

We didn't give each other gifts, we gave to nature by throwing sticks in the pond at Hamstead Heath.

We've just had a Waitrose open nearby and I popped in recently with the DCs expecting to overhear all sorts of Highgate-mums-style conversation. All I heard was DH shouting "for the love of God, Satan, put down that brioche" at one of the DCs. Disappointing.

I'd love to meet parents like that, though. I bet they're hilarious in their ignorance.
