Keep seeing it a lot on here.
Yes - our GDP is impressive. $2800 billion (so that's altered with the change in the value of the $ to £)

BUT - there are a lot of people in the country. So that's a lot of money 'to go between a lot of people'

Per capita - I think we are number 22.

There are many countries who have a higher GDP per capita than us.

Are they richer?

It's somewhat immaterial, anyway, as we will be slipping a lot further down the table after Brexit.
