Like those where the OP writes hardly anything and expects others to entertain them.

Now you go.

OP posts:
noschooll4mee · 29/12/2016 09:45

Those threads where people just pitch in with inane pantomime chat ... like the sweary thread ..or 125th no one will respond to this ..AAARRGHHHH

Yes I do hide them🙈 bit seeing the new title gives me the rage !

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 29/12/2016 09:52

noschool

I don't remember you ever contributing to the sweary thread. Why criticise something you are neither part of nor understand?
You are welcome to pop in and join the inane pantomime chat whenever you like though.
It's fucking awesome

HerChristmasFattyness · 29/12/2016 09:54

seeing the new title gives me the rage !

I'm really starting to worry about some posters. It seems they're extremely angry over things that quite honestly mean absolutely fuck all to them. Confused

SirChenjin · 29/12/2016 10:01

Why criticise something you are neither part of nor understand?

Because, as this thread title suggests, they are as annoying as hell and therefore not worth being part of? I'm guessing that most of the posters on here don't take part in threads they find annoying.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 29/12/2016 10:06

I don't 'get' who the MN royalty are supposed to be. I don't pay much attention to usernames but I certainly recognise a few however I don't think anyone would constitute royalty.

I don't partake in the 'cliquey' threads but I don't care if others do if that what they enjoy.

Wombatron · 29/12/2016 10:09

@Noschool we often have cakes and pastry being passed around. Someone's nearly always up and prepping coffee/tea for the team. You just need a good beanbag to throw in.... do you not have one? It's vair vair friendly in there. Someone will lend you one or share

Wombatron · 29/12/2016 10:12

And BIG thumbs up to those who dislike "discuss/no/any ending of an OP that commands them to respond" ... but you replied to the one that went "now you go".

SirChenjin · 29/12/2016 10:15

You're really not selling it very well Wom Grin

Trills · 29/12/2016 10:20

you replied to the one that went "now you go".

:o

It was clearly written in a self-aware manner.

limitedperiodonly · 29/12/2016 10:21

Driving threads where the OP mentions that the person who tooted them was in a BMW.

It doesn't matter if your driving role model is , saying the other car was a BMW is a get out of jail free card on mumsnet.

FrostyWind · 29/12/2016 10:29

Posts with "you know" inserted in them. Because, you know, it's irritating and makes you sound like a dick.

limitedperiodonly · 29/12/2016 10:32

Those threads where people just pitch in with inane pantomime chat ... like the sweary thread ..or 125th no one will respond to this

noschool I once tried to flutter down, smoothing feathers etc on a Nobdie thread but I must have got the code wrong because one of the regulars swiftly implied I was a troll and everyone ignored me.

I'm over it now but I still think it was kind of ironic Grin

pictish · 29/12/2016 10:33

Don't mind 'discuss' at all - it is a forum after all. What else are we here for?

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 29/12/2016 10:33

SirChenjin

But how is a whole thread annoying if you only read the title?
Is it just the title that annoys people?
Plenty of threads have swear words in them. Do you avoid them all?
Or do people actually start reading then get annoyed? Why? It does what it says on the tin. Probably one of the most honest, straightforward & supportive threads on MN, free of trolls & judgy pants.
Clearly it's worth being on it for us. It's been going on for over 3 years. It's good to be able to rant without being judged. Very refreshing.

Wombatron · 29/12/2016 10:34

@sirchenjin I don't want too haha! Don't want those who hate us in there Grinbut those that like cake are welcome.

It was more pointing out, as I and 2 other members have, that we welcome all, we judge not, and we use those threads as our safe space. Safe space on MN is rare when you just want to vent about the fact that you've had to hoover 3 times in 6 hours and your OH is just being a total knob for no reason other than the fact that he can be one. WineBrewCake---- and i for one care very much about the people on those threads.

SheWhoDaresGins2 · 29/12/2016 10:35

In defence of clique threads...

I am a member of the sweary thread (think it has been 4 year now if not more) and recently lost my Granda, I didn't want to post on MN to get deepest condolences or any of that, I wanted to be able to rant about how shit it all was, using my own way of speaking with out upsetting people or getting jumoed on as the rest if MNers do not know my personal situations, troubles every day problems or what twats my remaining relatives are. The sweary thread gave me all the support I needed and have done over all my ups and downs, as I have with others when it has been someone else.

It is a place where you can just pop on for 1 post to rant without having to explain the far ends of a fart to satisfy others.

And get this, you don't actually have to swear if you don't want to. There are no rules, no expectations, just a thread that is long running where people through different circumstances have made friends. I think the main reason we keep Sweary or a swear word in the title is for those who aren't always able to follow the thread at all times. I have list count of the not so regular posters who have posted I have found you again, simply because of the title. If that annoys people, sorry, that is not the intention. It is just how we like it, you don't have to read it. I don't believe it states that in the title ever?

Wombatron · 29/12/2016 10:36

Trills .. no it wasn't! You've all been hadGrin

SheWhoDaresGins2 · 29/12/2016 10:36

Yes there are typos, keyboards a twat...

Wombatron · 29/12/2016 10:38

Still luffs you gin, even if you can't type for fucking toffee Grin

BastardGoDarkly · 29/12/2016 10:38

Naaawww wombat :)

Clandestino · 29/12/2016 10:40

Passive aggressive posts. I was a target of one when another poster misunderstood my post, started arguing with me and I just finished the discussion pointing out that we are both basically saying the same so there's no point in arguing. The poster than opened another thread where she was basically looking approval from other posters to tell her that I was rude.
I "walked in", explained my point to which the reaction was: oh, why do you think the post was about you etc. I walked away and didn't care anymore because I don't like arguing for the sake of arguing and it's difficult to discuss something with people who react like they are just going through bad PMS.
And I think it's been mentioned already but the jokey thread written by a baby/cat/dog/pigeon are awful, especially when they tick all the boxes on a cliche-fest.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 29/12/2016 10:41

far ends of a fart

Good one Gin
Luffs ya three

LumelaMme · 29/12/2016 10:42

I was going to post that I don't like threads that descend into bunfights, but that seems to be over Grin

SirChenjin · 29/12/2016 10:42

I get that Wom - but some of them are annoying regardless and it's OK to say that in the context of this thread Grin

LumelaMme · 29/12/2016 10:45

And I think it's been mentioned already but the jokey thread written by a baby/cat/dog/pigeon are awful, especially when they tick all the boxes on a cliche-fest.
Oooh, yes. Like the descriptions of animals in dog rescue centres 'written by' the dogs: 'I'm a lovely, bouncy three year old girlie stuck here through no fault of my own. I'm not very keen on children and I just can't help it but I chase cats...'
