WTAF??

Gileswithachainsaw · 25/12/2016 21:17

We're they tinned nonsense or freshly made with fresh mint cos one isn't fit for rats the other is at least edible but neither have a place on an Xmas Meal.

Divorce is the only option

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 25/12/2016 21:17

I suppose you are in the bathroom, sobbing and fuming over a ruined Christmas?

Sparrowlegs248 · 25/12/2016 21:17

Ltb. Although this is the second thread mentioning mushy peas with Christmas dinner. .

ALemonyPea · 25/12/2016 21:18

I hope you stormed out of there straight away. The cheek of it!

mylittlephoney · 25/12/2016 21:18

God that's just as bad as overlooking the sprouts. Bleugh......

msgilbertblythe · 25/12/2016 21:22

They were tinned. @nottalotta at least I'm not on my own. Maybe it's a thing.

OP posts:
Cherrysoup · 25/12/2016 21:25

I quite like mushy peas, but it just wouldn't occur to serve them with Christmas dinner, I mean, there's just not the room!

TheoriginalLEM · 25/12/2016 21:25

The diiiirty bastards!

Blue2014 · 25/12/2016 21:27

How very very wrong!

mudandmayhem01 · 25/12/2016 21:29

My husband makes pea purée with Sunday roast, didn't do it today but that is basically posh mushy peas, really nice veg side.

seven201 · 25/12/2016 21:30

And here was me still feeling sad that I didn't get to eat any pigs in blankets today at the in-laws. Mushy peas!!!

My dd is breastfed and allergic to milk so I can't eat milk. So I couldn't eat the packet bread sauce thank god they usually have so I offered to make and bring some using almond milk for everyone. Nope, mil insisted they all have their packet bread sauce as apparently her 32 year old daughter loves it, she doesn't, so I bought my own little Tupperware for one of yummy home made bread sauce Grin.

hoddtastic · 25/12/2016 21:34

yorkshire?

BertieBotts · 25/12/2016 21:35

Could be worse. The first Christmas I was with DH MIL served fried mushrooms. Confused

I love a fried mushroom. On a fry up. I was utterly bemused to find them on a Christmas dinner. MIL was most offended that I refused them (to be fair, I'm not very good at hiding my facial expressions) and has basically only just forgiven me six years later.

Andrewofgg · 25/12/2016 21:35

Peas, mushy or not, should be part of every meal. YABU!

MouseLove · 25/12/2016 21:35

Holy shit. Nope. It's almost as bad as tinned sweetcorn on a Christmas dinner. Shudders

And also... totally divorce.

CloudPerson · 25/12/2016 21:38

Dh's family always serve mushy peas with christmas dinner (bachelor's quick soak peas).
Therefore we have to serve them when we cook a Christmas dinner. I avoid them.

53rdAndBird · 25/12/2016 21:40

Mushy peas are fantastic. Send them round here and I'll swap you for sliced carrots.

TheSlaughterOfHerodificado · 25/12/2016 21:41

Never mind divorce - it's grounds for murder!

Smilelikeyoufeelit · 25/12/2016 21:45

I was behind a man buying mushy peas today in the garage! Maybe they were for your lunch 😂

BackforGood · 25/12/2016 21:47

My first ever.....

Ltb Wink

1horatio · 25/12/2016 21:49

Tinned?!

Well, DH is still horrified we eat pasta, reindeer and elk.

But still... from a tin?! Shock

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 25/12/2016 21:49

We are not having roast potatoes. We are having mash. No mushy peas but no pigs in blankets either. heathens

OohMavis · 25/12/2016 22:17

The diiiirty bastards!

This made me chuckle Grin

Did they bleed into the gravy, OP? So grim.

EBearhug · 25/12/2016 22:18

I have had confit of goose on a bed of crushed peas. Which is basically mushy peas.
