That's it really. Some perfume and a chopping board because I've mentioned a few times that we need one for the kitchen!! I feel a little hurt to be honest but he thinks it's hilarious!

He's also buggered off for a nap while I'm sat with my Dd and Dm watching frigging Frozen for the gazilionth time.

Xmas is a bit shit really isn't it!

So spending time with your family to celebrate Christmas isn't as important as you getting a present that you wanted?

Is this how Christmas is going nowadays?. As said unthread. Buy your own presents next time

expatinscotland · 25/12/2016 16:31

'I feel a little hurt to be honest but he thinks it's hilarious!

That's about as funny as a maggot sandwich.

California25 · 25/12/2016 16:32

Yes you do sound like a spoiled, entitled brat. As if today is all about you

expatinscotland · 25/12/2016 16:34

Oh, dear God, all the virtue signallers are out in force today. You're not supposed to ever want a nice present, some people got FA so you should be grateful for a paper sack with rocks in it.

Loubymoo27 · 25/12/2016 16:35

I haven't CremeBrusselsSprouts. That's why I've come on here instead! I've put a smile on for my 4YO. The nap has annoyed me quite a bit. He's been up there about 2 hours now!!!

Dh got me t bags and bff got me an osprey handbag and key ring. Go figure but he has put an offer in on my dream house.

PigletJohn · 25/12/2016 16:37

one of these chopping boards?

UnicornPee · 25/12/2016 16:38

Better than what I got:

Nothing since we got together in 1999

Newbrummie · 25/12/2016 16:38

Pasithea - you have s husband and a boyfriend? How greedy are you 😜

Ellisandra · 25/12/2016 16:38

He has put an offer in?
Surely (plural) you have put an offer in?

As to the chopping board, context is all!
An extra present as you'd mentioned needing one - fine.
Personally I'd skin my boyfriend over perfume but be happy with the chopping board!

Go and wake him up! There's no point in sitting around getting resentful.

expatinscotland · 25/12/2016 16:40

'Better than what I got:

More fool you for wasting your time with a thoughtless, selfish wanker.

OiiiOiiiLou · 25/12/2016 16:40

DH bought me Swallows and Amazons on DVD and said "I didn't know what to get you" and a hoodie from New Look. I still haven't reacted. It was amusing more than anything.

Loubymoo27 · 25/12/2016 16:41

I've woke him up! Knew I could count on this site to make me feel better and put things in perspective. Even the spoiled, entitled brat comment. I aren't, I promise! Was just needing a rant and I feel better now!

Just give him pictures of exactly what you want and sat navigation on where the shops are to get them. You will never be disappointed again. You needed a chopping board, your perfume is Lovley. A bit of gratitude. What did you give him.?...

Lunde · 25/12/2016 16:50

Ah - so actually he bought himself a chopping board to cook with

insancerre · 25/12/2016 16:54

Husband got me a f**king chopping board for Xmas!!!
pointythings · 25/12/2016 16:55

Ha! I had to order my own Christmas presents and he hasn't paid me for them yet.

Not that I mind, actually. Our favourite earring shop has gone out of business and he has tried, but nothing has jumped out of me. So he is getting me the complete Rivers of London series, which I really, really love. All is well. He is just scared of Internet shopping because he is an utter Luddite.

Moogdroog · 25/12/2016 16:57

Well, I got a 4-bar extension lead. Can't see what your problem is Shock

I also got some make up

WonderWombat · 25/12/2016 16:58

I would like a new chopping board. Not necessarily Christmas - but a good big wooden one.

The perfume seems a good contrasting present. One useful thing. One luxurious thing.

But I suppose it depends on the 'rules' of your particular relationship...

Lorelei76 · 25/12/2016 17:00

What's wrong with having a nap?!

JessicaEccles · 25/12/2016 17:00

He bought u an emerald necklace ! I am so jealous !

Heratnumber7 · 25/12/2016 17:00

I had a chopping board too! And a new peeler.
But also a new flute Smile

user789653241 · 25/12/2016 17:03

He used to buy me nice things, like bracelet and dress.
20 years we've been married and this year, he bought me pressure cooker.
I am still happy though. (I love cooking!)

Topseyt · 25/12/2016 17:03

I got a chopping board from my DD1. I had suggested it myself when she asked what I might like.

I love it. It is a glass one with a picture on it of a labrador dog and an open dishwasher which is waiting to be put on. The labrador has his head inside giving the plates a labrador prewash. Anyone who owns a labrador, as I do, would see the humour in that picture.

I would be underwhelmed with perfume, though would of course graciously accept it. That is just my personal taste though. I never wear perfume or make up and have little interest in them. That said though, I know some people love them and find them the perfect gift.

VestalVirgin · 25/12/2016 17:04

Paint something nice on the chopping board, then buy another one for him to use. After all, this one was for you. Wink

No, seriously, tell him you're hurt. If he doesn't try to understand, then he is indeed a selfish wanker.

I would buy something like a chopping board for a person who I know likes to cook, but since you live together and HE does most of the cooking, that seems rather selfish.

Did you hint at anything you want? I mean, it is possible he just couldn't think of anything. I often have that problem and then just buy chocolate.

You should tell him you feel hurt, so that it will either not happen again - or he will reveal he really did it because he doesn't care about you, which you really should know if it is the case.
