I freely admit this is a bit boasting. (A bit?) But I'm so proud and so pleased, just had to share.

DS's Christmas gift to me was two songs that he had recorded himself - him on guitar, him singing, and he'd somehow downloaded some kind of music mixing software, so they were properly recorded. He told me he'd done the guitar first, then recorded the singing over top of it. On the second song he's managed to harmonize with himself!!!

AIBU to have cried?

What a lovely present :) boast away!

Leslieknope45 · 25/12/2016 11:03

How special

Hulababy · 25/12/2016 11:11

How lovely of your Dd :)

California - definitely not cringe worthy; a 13 year old boy recording a song for his mum. Thoughtful and genuine it what it is.

Hulababy · 25/12/2016 11:11

Ds not Dd

Boast away op.

If we aren't proud of our children, who will be?

I also like the 5 year old and the rubber. At that age I recall rubbers were the best thing ever. So it is lovely he wanted to share with you.

Merry christmas everyone. Especially to those who need cheering up a little

They were covers, as I understand it. I mean, I know one of the songs, it was a very popular radio hit back in its day haha. The other I wasn't familiar with, but DS is a great one for listening to obscure music he's found on YouTube etc.

He said it was because I bought him the guitar last Christmas, so he wanted to show me how far he's come teaching himself to play it. So I see it as him showing his appreciation. It was my favorite present!

That is so thoughtful and a truly wonderful gift. I would be thrilled, if my child had done that for me.
