To think westerners shouldn't smoke

On holiday abroad right now in Asia. We've been staying at a resort where there are loads of Scandinavians, Dutch and Brits.

It really bothers me when they just light up in places they'd never do at home. We were sitting in a cafe and someone (Scandinavian) started smoking next to us. A Brit did the same at another restaurant.

Locals, including local tourists I can understand because there isn't a no- smoking culture here but anyone from northern or Western Europe or Northern America should have it ingrained that it's disgusting and unhealthy for those around them and it should be second nature.

It feels like they're just taking advantage even though they know it's anti-social!

I love the smell of cigarettes (never smoked, never even tried it) so wouldn't moan at all. YABU because the smell of a fresh cigarette is a beautiful thing.

I had a lot of empathy until this country became hysterical, all those pubs that are thriving providing employment due to the clean environment provided for the non smokers ....oh what do you mean the local pubs shut?

Masses of pubs

My pregnant dsis spent all morning following me into the garden with her vape thing and breathing deeply!

But can you smoke in them Rufus? You naughty reindeer. You've a big journey to make tonight. Too much smoking and you won't make the journey around the word. Then children will be crying when their stockings are empty.

Plenty here but I'm pretty Central the rural ones are dying though. I miss sunday afternoons in the pub, 3 dcs later its a thing of the past ...
