Shocking amount of polystyrene in marks and spencer hamper

We've been sent a lovely Christmas hamper this year from marks and spencer. Really nice items inside it, but did it really need all this polystyrene packaging? - it can't be put in your recycling bin and can't break down in landfill. Several items are in cardboard boxes rather than glass, so didn't need protecting. What's wrong with some nice paper packaging, with bubble wrap just around the glass items?

Marks tries to make out they are massively into sustainability but I'm reality they aren't. They just had a great comms and marketing department.

Still, I'm jealous of you getting a hamper!
