I know deep down that I shouldn't like "I Should Be So Lucky" by Kylie Minogue so much but it's just come on the radio and I've found myself dancing around to it. "Reach" by S Club 7 is another.

Maybe I'm just uncool.

What's your favourite?

Anything by Dolly Parton and I also love a bit of RuPaul...though in my opinion he's nothing to feel guilty about!

Rosa · 23/12/2016 14:50

Starship- nothings going to stop us now ! ( hides in shame !)

SootSprite · 23/12/2016 15:24

When on my own in the car I listen to my dd's Korean pop music. My favourite is Monster by EXO. I sing along phonetically though I have no idea what I'm singing.😳🙄😂

Fizzingwhizbees · 23/12/2016 15:35

Loco in Acapulco is one of my favourite songs in the world.

I also love S Club 7's 'Reach' and 'Bring it all back'. My taste in music is shit Grin

PinxTheTinxMinx · 23/12/2016 15:44

Pour Some Sugar on me by Def Leppard, total school disco blast from the past secretly love it.

SomeKindofNightmare · 23/12/2016 15:46

Yeah, I have so many that would destroy my credibility as a born to be wild, hard-living, hard-rocking, hard-rolling headbanger if they knew about them. I'd be divested of my leathers, studs and chains and cast out into the pop wilderness.
My dh simply raises a faintly bemused eyebrow and shakes his head slightly as if wondering: "Who are you and what have you done with my wife?"on the rare occasions the headphone jack gets dislodged from the iPod when I'm surreptitiously indulging in something from my ultra secret little black playlist but he's never outed me to them.

A sampling from said uslbp:
Total Eclipse of the Heart
ALL songs from Grease and Saturday Night Fever and The Sound of Music
Metal Mickey
Dancing Queen - oh, why pretend? Any and ALL Abba
Do Bad Things - Jace Everett
I Will Survive
Come on Eileen
I Would Walk - Proclaimers
Any and all despised-by-the-hardcore ballads by otherwise highly streetcredible rock bands, I'm talking about you Genesis, Nazareth, Metallica and Aerosmith - sellouts!

redfairy · 23/12/2016 16:48

Wanted by the Dooleys. Best british disco group ever.

ClopySow · 23/12/2016 17:01

The80sweregreat · 23/12/2016 17:02

Since youve been gone is fab!
Love 'Reach' ,, feel good and nice lyrics.
Here i go again , by Whitesnake. The kids roll their eyes at that one.
Dont leave me this way. Love this song.
Bat out of hell. Nonsense but fun.

YouMeanYouForgotCranberriesToo · 23/12/2016 17:08

Mmmbop by Hanson, except I'm not at all ashamed of it. I love it! Xmas Grin

S club 7 is probably my proper guilty pleasure.

morningtoncrescent62 · 23/12/2016 17:16

SomeKindOfNightmare, I would have said those were classics - I love them all shamelessly!

Seasons in the Sun. There, I've said it.

Runny · 23/12/2016 17:27

In the Mood for Dancing by The Nolans

It's just awful but I love it!

user1471426611 · 23/12/2016 18:16

I love so many of these!!. Mine would have to be
mickey - Toni Basil
I am the one and only - Chesney Hawkes
500 miles - Proclaimers
Crash the Wedding - Busted

Anything by Abba and another vote here for power ballads!

Very embarrassing!

BonnieF · 23/12/2016 18:18

S club 7 - Don't stop movin
Whigfield -Saturday night
Aqua -Barbie Girl
Dodgy 90s Europop as a genre.

MrsMattBomer · 23/12/2016 18:21

I'm adding "Breakfast at Tiffany's" by Deep Blue Something. I know I should hate it - they were one hit wonders and it's sooooooooooo cliche but I bloody love it. Kids don't though, hence why I keep playing it - I find it keeps them away from the fridge if I have it on in the kitchen!

Cutting Crew - Died in your Arms
Streets of Fire Soundtrack - Tonight is What It Means to be Young
Terence Trent d'Arby - Wishing Well

TheWeeBabySeamus1 · 23/12/2016 18:44

I will never admit it in RL but I love:

I want you back for good - Take That

Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves- Cher

Staying Alive - The Bee Gees

Blush I'm so ashamed 😭

MatildaTheCat · 23/12/2016 18:45

Almost any power ballad whilst in my car alone. Careless Whisper and, oh the shame, Lady in Red ( just started dating dh and was madly in love).

Most songs mentioned here aren't remotely embarrassing. Nearly all Beegees, Abba and Saturday Night Fever are just impossible to stop that foot tapping and a few moves.

Great thread. Bored of Christmas angst. Xmas Grin

PestoStormissimos · 23/12/2016 18:50

Up around the bend - Creedence Clearwater Revival

or even the Hanoi Rocks version Xmas Grin

that takes me right back to my youth Xmas Blush

Bahhhhhumbug · 23/12/2016 18:58

Happy Radio by Edwin Starr

Aderyn2016 · 23/12/2016 19:00

Oh and Glory of Love by Peter Cetera Blush

SomeKindofNightmare · 23/12/2016 19:31

Seasons in the Sun. There, I've said it.

Really Mornington ? That's fascinating, so, how about you tell me all about it...

Rollonbedtime7pm · 23/12/2016 19:35

OMG some epic music on this thread!

Love a good cheesy dancing tune or a karaoke classic! Grin

I will never put my ipod on shuffle in public, so full of tack!!
