My sister is 44 and we have nothing in common at all. She has no children, lives with my parents, no hobbies. Spent most of her early adulthood going off the rails and we have grown apart (but get on superficially). I want to get her something nice as appreciate her situation is not great but am at a loss. Going shopping later. Want to spend up to £30,

Exploding kittens

I have 2 sisters - totally different people!

Sister A - age 29 lives in a house share, main hobby - getting pissed.
Present - upside down wine glass and mermaid tail blanket.

Sister B - Age 21, doesn't drink, lives at home, has an expensive hobby that I cannot buy gifts for.
Present - Purse, fluffy socks, fudge hot chocolate pouch.

Sister B is much harder to buy for. I am not happy with her present but was at a loss as to what to get her aside from the purse.

A restaurant voucher and an escape room experience (joint gifts for her and her partner) and these socks.

Vouchers sound like your friend? Or a magazine subscription or membership of something? Or failing that something you think she might like from a department store, with a gift receipt.

Sister 1 - selection of body shop make up

Sister 2 - homemade chutney with a huge hamper of cheese

Can't go into much detail as my sister is a regular on here, but posh chocs are usually appreciated. It doesn't have to be one thing, you could think of smaller but classy items that add up to the amount you want to spend - my DSis will have 4-5 smaller items including some she gets a variation of most years.

Pyjamas? New dressing down/slippers? I've got my sister pyjamas and prosseco and will probably get her a Soap and Glory set from Boots too xxx

I bought my sister a poker set (her favourite new thing to do with friends but she is currently having to borrow a friend's set) and some chocolates.

My sister also lurks here (look away if you are reading perm head or you get coal!). Box set/earrings/scratch cards with a gift set/vouchers or tickets for something?

No7 gift set. There are loads of good sets in boots at the mo, could be worth a look!

we don;t exchange christmas presents (just buy for the DC), but for birthdays I've often bought Costa or Carluccio vouchers.

I've got my sister a voucher for the salon she uses and a bracelet, I think I spent around £40 in total. She's 31 and also quite difficult to buy for.

We only buy for each other's kids so no help here I'm afraid. I always like receiving toiletries or chocolates!

I bought mine a pair of pyjamas. (Not very exciting but she is hard to buy for)

If she likes chocolate, posh chocolate, eg Hotel Chocolat. Maybe some nice handcream as well.

If she drinks alcohol - nice bottle of gin and some fevertree mixers?

I got my sister a large photography book she wanted and a Corksicle as she got a bit obsessed with it. In the past we have exchanged the following

Voucher for massage
Silver earrings
Leather gloves
Moleskin diary
Huge scarf
A box of fancy ingredients and wine
Good gin or wine
Things from British Library giftshop
Framed prints
Travel guides for big planned trips.

We have a budget of £25-30

A cookbook, a book about dog training (she's about to adopt a rescue greyhound), a ring cake tin, gardener's hand scrub and, for fun, a pack of dog poo bags!!

Have googled exploding kittens. I want that.

I've got mine some bath bombs and a lego set of the character she cosplays. Not sure either of those will help you

As I am on maternity leave, my budget is really tight, so i just got her a Ladybird for Grownups books, the zombie apocalypse one as she absolutely loves The Walking Dead :)

Printed photos she had taken of her pets and out onto canvas, a breakfast maker, a gin tasting set, cards against humanity, a box set - how to get away with murder and a couple of books.

There are only 3 of us on our family - mum/me/her hence why we buy quite a few gifts.

I'll probably get chucked off MN for this, but I've booked us both in for a spa day

It's a joint present though as her birthday was a couple of weeks ago. Plus half of it is for me, so I can't count that as being a present for her.

I've bought mine some lovely makeup brushes - her request - and a smelly candle for her house (from the kids).
She's also a lover of pyjamas - I've bought them in the past as well

I got my older sister slippers as had no idea and my wee sister got 3kg of haribo rhubarb and custard sweets
