I'm 6 + 6 with my first baby at the age of 37. DH and I are so happy but I can't help worrying :( All the books and websites I have read state that I should be experiencing morning sickness by now, but I'm not at all! The only symptoms I have are tiredness and frequent trips to the loo. My breasts don't even seem to be growing that much :( can anyone advise me about whether this is something to be anxious about? I haven't had any scans yet and was planning to do so in the first week of January (I live abroad so the booking in system is a bit different). Help! I'm awake and anxious that there's something wrong with my baby :(

First two was only crippling tiredness until 16 wks. Nothing else. I was going to bed straight after coming home from work and snoozing during my lunch break

ToriaPumpkin · 22/12/2016 22:28

I've got two children and both times the only symptoms I had until I began to expand was that I was exhausted and very thirsty. I had no morning sickness, no weird tastes, no headaches, no sore or growing boobs, no fainting, no anything any of my friends had. I did develop SPD both times which more than made up for the lack of first trimester symptoms Wink

Mindtrope · 22/12/2016 22:31

I became pregnant at the age of 38 and didn't even know I was pregnant until I was 12 weeks. No symptoms at all. Subsequent baby was the same, no tiredness, no sickness, nothing.

I had two very easy and healthy pregnancies and births, and two healthy babies.

Liskee · 22/12/2016 22:46

With both my pregnancies other than a missed period I had no other symptoms. With my 2nd pregnancy I only did the test as it was 2 days before my work Christmas do and was just making sure I wasn't pregnant...transpires I was 6 weeks. No sickness with either, sore boobs with first from about 6-18 weeks, bugger all bump with first til 22 weeks (was showing from 10 weeks with 2nd!!) and although I was more tired it wasn't the mad exhaustion many talk about in the first trimester. Basically I was lucky in terms of the early symptoms. Be glad of it and unless you have cramping or bleeding try and relax until your 12 week scan :)

TheNoodlesIncident · 22/12/2016 22:48

I had no sickness or feelings of nausea throughout - the worst part was when I was nine months and the baby was pushing up under my stomach. I found it easier to sleep propped up with pillows because of the reflux-type feeling. No vomiting in labour either, so you never know.

I did feel tired in the first few weeks, I could be OK and just ordinarily tired, then whoosh! total exhaustion. And I did need to wee more often. But that was it, really. No mad cravings for anything, either. You may just be lucky.

Tastesjustlikecherrycola85 · 22/12/2016 22:53

With both of mine, I felt nauseous for a couple of weeks around the 7 week mark but aside from that it was just constant tiredness

JoyfulAndTriumphant · 22/12/2016 23:07

Well I'm ten weeks pregnant and this has been a rough pregnancy so far. So much rougher than my first.

Now I'm worrying about chromosome abnormalities after a previous post.

So, you know, we'll always find something to worry about....

Lunalovepud · 22/12/2016 23:09

Some people don't get MS and lucky them...

My friend has had two puke free pregnancies and sailed through looking glowing and fabulous.

I'm currently as far along as you with DC2 and have felt like absolute shit all day. Can't sleep at the moment as I'm dribbling like a teething baby and worried in going to be sick. Some days are fine and other days are awful. Make the most of the days you feel well as you never know when MS will sneak up on you!

Keep well and good luck with everything.

haveacupoftea · 23/12/2016 01:26

I had very little sickness, the tiny bit I had I think was due to nerves/excitement.
No uncontrollable cravings.
Boobs the same size.
No 'tons of creamy cm' that people claim to get immediately after conceiving

Just tiredness, hunger on and off, thirsty around 5-6 weeks.

17 weeks today and still waiting for a proper bump and movement that can't be explained away as gas etc. But at scans baby is perfectly happy and healthy!

BabySnores · 23/12/2016 01:51

Lack of symptoms doesn't mean too much really.

With ds I had no symptoms until 8 weeks and then severe sickness set in.

I had bad nausea and tiredness wit my pregnancy which ended in a missed miscarriage. My symptoms didnt disappear until after the op, they continued for two weeks after my baby died. Quite a few people I've spoken too found the same thing.

My close friend had no symptoms and still bled a little each month. She was surprised at her bfp who is now a cheeky lithe chap.

mum2Bomg · 23/12/2016 05:55

Didn't want to read and run and wanted to reassure you. My gorgeous DD is 18 days old today - sleeping soundly but I'm up as I can't stop staring at her little face Smile

I had hardly any pregnancy symptoms. Was more tired and needed more food but didn't feel sick throughout and never threw up. Everything I worried about and googled through pregnancy was normal. Someone explained to me that from the second you're pregnant, you worry. And that worry will stay with you forever, it's a Mum's job...that kinda made me feel better Flowers Totally natural to worry x

ecuse · 23/12/2016 13:25

No sickness here, for both pregnancies. Sore boobs around when I would have got my period, then almost symptom free other than tiredness until second trimester when aches and carpal tunnel set in.

Liiinoo · 23/12/2016 13:31

Magazines are always full of stories about people who have given birth without ever realising they were pregnant because they had none of the normal signs, indeed I know someone who did just that thing, was partying in her jeans on Saturday and had a full-term, healthy daughter on Monday.

TheresAGhostYouFools · 23/12/2016 13:35

I had no pregnancy symptoms whatsoever, none at all!! It was only the bump and the eventual kicking that gave it away Wink!

Babypassport · 23/12/2016 13:56

My morning sickness didn't hit until about 8 weeks. I'd had tender boobs previously but they had already subsided and I had no other symptoms to speak of. I remember spending one Sunday, when I was about as pregnant as you are now, sitting on the sofa, grabbing at my boobies in the hope that the would hurt again, and just crying my eyes out as I thought it was all going wrong. I'm upset now just remembering how awful it felt, even though my pregnancy was fine and my beautiful daughter is asleep upstairs.

Congratulations OP and all the other pregnant ladies on the thread! Flowers

Crunchymum · 23/12/2016 14:01

Have had 2 virtually symptomless pregnancies. Some people are just lucky I suppose.

I've actually had 6 pregnancies in total (2 kids and 4 miscarriages) and all have been the same. Tiredness, feeling a bit hungry but basically nowt really quantifiable as a real symptom.

splendide · 23/12/2016 14:18

Zero symptoms here too when I was pregnant with DS. Boobs never even changed once he arrived and I fed him till he was nearly 2.

Tfoot75 · 23/12/2016 14:29

Helpful to think of the hormones needed to support a pregnancy as like a drug with very commonly occurring side effects. The main purpose of the hormone production in your body is to support a healthy pregnancy, but in some women the hormones will have 'side effects' such as sickness, in others there will be no side effects, but in the majority of cases the main purpose of the hormones will be effective regardless - to support a healthy pregnancy. The lack of side effects could mean that the hormones are not there or not working properly but more likely mean that you're one of the lucky ones and aren't suffering the side effects. Worrying won't change the outcome. Fwiw I suffered horrendous morning sickness but 1st time it didn't kick in until about 7 weeks.

Socksey · 23/12/2016 15:30

No idea what 6 +6 is.... but morning (aka all day) sickness didn't kick in until about 3 months.... it was joyful...

Annie592 · 24/12/2016 01:48

Congratulations OP! My sickness didn't kick in until around 8 weeks, boobs never changed during pregnancy. If I hadn't taken a test I wouldn't have known I was pregnant at your stage. I found the early weeks very stressful, as I was so excited but also so scared of something going wrong- I never stopped worrying altogether but it did get loads better after the 12 week scan

thefairyfellersmasterstroke · 24/12/2016 03:00

I've only had one pregnancy (twins) and had none of the typical issues at all. Apart from the final month when the upper twin, who had been in a breach position all along and refused to be turned, got so big that the head was pressing on my stomach and I couldn't keep any food down, so I was vomiting after almost every meal. I finished up a stone and a half lighter than I started, which I suppose is better than gaining. It's horrible being sick though so fingers crossed it stays that way for you.

Rowgtfc72 · 24/12/2016 05:56

No morning sickness here either.

Dd was back to back so didn't feel her kick till about six months.

No bump till seven months when she ran out of room and popped further forward.Grin

TowerRavenSeven · 24/12/2016 06:01

I had no morning sickness our child, my mother had none with her two children and her mother had none with her three children!!

BadToTheBone · 24/12/2016 09:52

I had no morning sickness with either of my pg and only a little nausea with my second. In fact pg1 in particular was very symptom free and very little bump until around 6 months, he's a strapping 15 yo now!

DailyFail1 · 24/12/2016 09:55

My sil had no pregnancy symptoms at all - GP was worried as it can rarely be a sign of insufficient progesterone production and so her prog was measured regularly during the 1st and 2nd trimesters. Everything was fine in the end, but if you're worried get your GP to give you a prog test.
