Am I being unreasonable to want to book a four hour flight to Greece, with my 6, 5, 3, and almost 2 year old. My family lives there and I haven't seen them since my oldest was born. I really want to see them and they really want to meet my children as they've never met them, but I'm not sure it's a good idea to

Why not? I have flown all over the world with mine. What's stopping you?

YelloDraw · 21/12/2016 14:29

Why not? 6 and 5 will be fine with some books/iPhone/film. The younger two will need more entertaining.

LadyMaryofDownt0n · 21/12/2016 14:31

I dint see a problem my sister has 5 & goes all over the world with them. I am not saying it's easy but you get used to it. Go & enjoy yourself.

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 21/12/2016 14:32

Not at all unreasonable. Will you have another adult will you? 5 and 6 yr olds are old enough to carry/wheel their own luggage, 3 yr old is even old enough for carrying their own carry on luggage. A double collapsible stroller might be useful for the younger two. Good luck!

sonjadog · 21/12/2016 14:32

What´s the problem?

ChasedByBees · 21/12/2016 14:32

It would be absolutely fine. Get someone to meet you at the airport on the other side to make things easier. Do any of your family have car seats you could borrow?

Heratnumber7 · 21/12/2016 14:32

It's only four hours and four back. Go for it.
Or go by train?

Ahickiefromkinickie · 21/12/2016 14:33

My Big Fat Greek Plane Journey Grin

Could one of your family in Greece visit you and then you all make journey to Greece together?

FunkinEll · 21/12/2016 14:35

We're flying to Greece with our 1, 4, 7 and 8 year old next year. I keep telling myself we'all be fine.

We did a 2 hour flight with them all this year which was ok, not too stressful. Lots of books/ pens and mostly iPads.

ChristmasZombie · 21/12/2016 14:41

What are your concerns? I'm sure people on here will be able to offer specific advice.

CottonSock · 21/12/2016 14:43

I would, but not on my own

Blacksox · 21/12/2016 14:45

What is the problem?

SparklyLeprechaun · 21/12/2016 14:47

Why not? 4 hours is not very long. I'd personally be more concerned about the logistics of maneuvering 4 young children and luggage through the airport but I presume you're used to it. The flight itself will be fine.

dollydaydream114 · 21/12/2016 14:57

They'll need a bit of entertaining I expect and I'm not saying it will be the most relaxing flight you've ever had, but four hours isn't that long in the big scheme of things and it will totally worth it to introduce your children to your family. And it will exciting for the kids to see Greece for the first time, too.

bookgirl1982 · 21/12/2016 15:00

Will the airline be ok with a 1 adult to 4 child ratio? I though you needed an adult for every two children.

What particularly concerns you?

Will you be on your own?

AreWeThereYet000 · 21/12/2016 17:36

I went to Greece this July with my DS who was turning 3 in the September, plenty of snacks and colouring books and he was fine, also booked an early morning flight so he slept most of the way tbf x

whyohwhy000 · 21/12/2016 17:39

bookgirl1982 That only applies to children under 2.

unless I'm making stuff up

ForalltheSaints · 21/12/2016 17:51

Not unreasonable at all- to visit family is something you would regret not doing so go ahead.
