Went in for my sisters present, got her a purse and some socks in a box. Items are 3 for 2 and I noticed an "advent calendar" which was a necklace, bracelet and charms. You open the doors each day to get the pieces. Thought as an extra I could put them together in a little box made up for her. It was reduced to £3 as 3 charms were missing.

I get to the till and lady says that as the item is already reduced it will not be included in the 3 for 2. So I went and got something else that I needn't need. She rings it all through I pay and go home.

On my return I see that the £3 item did get included in the 3 for 2 which meant that I got charged £3 more than I would have done without her input. I can just about forgive this until I get home and find that the "3 charms" that were missing are actually the fucking necklace and bracelet. So now I am left with a bunch of xmas charms that are fucking useless to me unless I go and spend MORE money and drag my poor kids back through the city centre in order to do so.
Fucked off!

This sort of stuff is annoying and common. I find it a waste of life to dwell on these things because shops these days are just badly run chains. Personally, I'd wrap your sisters items and anything you don't want, bin it and write the £6 off. That way it's all out of your sight and dealt with and no further stress/irritation will be coming.
If you took it back, they could accuse you of taking the missing stuff anyway, I just wouldn't get into it.

How will it cost you £15?
As I understand it you bought 2 things you wanted and got the crap thing for free. And you bought a third thing that you didn't actually want for £6. You can easily return the £6 thing or give it as a gift now or later.
Yes it's annoying but you should have checked your receipt before leaving. You should always do this when things are reduced as it's easy for mistakes to be made at tills.

Check out if they have a facebook page and message them - if nothing else, their reply may ease the way when returning the item after New Year. It is annoying and you don't always get chance to check everything in the shop, particularly when you have children in tow!

I have been to a different store and they have kindly sorted it. I still have the crap gift and have had to buy an alternative to the non useable gift but it is sorted. Just a shame it cost me another hour of my day to sort and the baby has had to spend more time being pushed around the shops.
