Chain messages on Facebook

What do you do when someone you really like sends you one of those awful Chain type messages on FB? And it says something like

"I am sending this to a woman I admire and love...to a woman with great spirit and tenancity and who cares for all she meets...I know she will send this on to 10 more women who she cares about (and I'd better be one of them!)

It's such emotional blackmail!

I have some proffesional contacts on FB and the vast majority of my mates would think I'd lost the plot if I forwarded such tripe to them!

I only have a very select bunch on my FB so I can't send it forward without looking like a bit of a tit and anyway it's just not my style!

WHat I did do was reply saying "How sweet! Thank you...I've sent this on!"

So I lied! ANd she'll know I lied because she won't receive hers back!

I just don't want to offend or hurt her as she's a really kind and sweet person!

I've a really close friend who I love, who insists on sending these. The fact that it was making me a little judgey of her (being as I can't bear them) was one of the reasons I closed my FB account.

MagicMarkers · 20/12/2016 15:09

I ignore the messages. I sometimes defriend or unfollow. It depends.

It's just a quicker version of those awful chain letters we used to get ("send this to 10 friends or someone will be hit by lightning") or the pyramid stickers/books rubbish. I ignore those as well and the sender goes down in my estimation.

mamatiger83 · 20/12/2016 15:45

I have 2 very close friends who send me these at least twice a week, so annoying!!!! I just read, ignore and carry on chatting as normal if we speak over messenger

Minivaperviper · 20/12/2016 16:26

Llama thing is to solve the riddle and send the answer to the person that posted it, if you get it wrong you have to change your prohmfuke to a llama and repost the riddle knowing the right answer and so on.

I did it for fun as I knew I had got it right .

As for chain messages I completely ignore them they seem to be the new Christmas card at the moment, cba with that shit.

I hate them and always delete as soon as they arrive

I also ignore the "Type Amen" if you care or scroll past if you're a heartless bastard

mummyto2monkeys · 20/12/2016 16:53

I ignore them, my great Aunt keep sending them to me, I just like her post and don't forward them. I hate chain letters and was distraught when I received them as a young teenager, my Mum burnt them and told me that's all they were good for. Chain posts/ messages are just as bad in my eyes!

littleme2016 · 20/12/2016 17:05

I ignore them.

Its always the same one friend who sends me them and as much as I love her, I really hate these messages!

Aeroflotgirl · 20/12/2016 17:24

I just ignore it, or like it and ignore. They are so annoying, I hate them!

VivienneWestwoodsKnickers · 20/12/2016 17:30

Ignore ignore ignore. My great aunt and a couple of friends are forever sending this shite to me. I can't be doing with it, so just don't reply or acknowledge them. Hopefully they'll all get the hint eventually.

It reminds me of the sodding chain letters we all did in primary school. They were appalling too.

Princesspinkgirl · 20/12/2016 18:30

I ignore because these things piss me off

glitterazi · 20/12/2016 18:45

Meh. I'm another one who just rolls my eyes and ignores them.

glitterazi · 20/12/2016 18:48

Do not even get me started on those things. Not harmless, in fact they're the opposite.
IGNORE THEM if you don't already.
