Ad for Diesel - Bad. Just seen it on TV and just think "what the hell were they thinking?" Saying that, perfume/aftershave ads tend to make me shake me head anyway.

All perfume/aftershave ads are pathetic

Bambambini · 20/12/2016 15:34

Yip, there's another around at the moment that just has a woman on her own just rolling around ever so sexily - just as we tend to do when we are left to our own devices. Wonder if these models/actresses get mortified.

I don't know. The Johnny Depp ad hits the spot. Sauvage - yes please

TheSparrowhawk · 20/12/2016 16:54

Wow, so it's basically saying 'wear this perfume and be an absolutely massive raging cock.' That woman would just tell him fuck the fuck off to the far side of fuck.

I despise this ad.

But then theyre all just bollocks now. Look at Charlize Theron gabbling twaddle about 'I touch the water, I see the sun and it says run' (or some such shite) in the jadore ad. Utter guff.

Maudlinmaud · 20/12/2016 16:58

Oh how funny! What a sap she looks, lapping up all his lines.

littlemissneela · 20/12/2016 17:01

I too hate that ad. The message it gives is men can behave like absolute shits and the women will still love them. Coz you know, we are just young scallywags at heart. Bless us! Xmas Hmm

Gollygeewhizztits · 20/12/2016 17:07

That is terrible but all perfume and aftershave ads are. That one has to be down there with the worst though. Does anyone really watch these ads and feel inspired to buy the product? They must work for someone.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 20/12/2016 17:10

YANBU it's awful. Message = "I'm a test if that's ok?". Doors woman bats her eyelids.

The Jonny Depp one is worse. When he digs a hole in the desert I always think "is that where he's gonna hide the fact that he's an alcoholic woman beater?" Twat

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 20/12/2016 17:10

Test? I meant twat!

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 20/12/2016 17:13

Mr Mack sums up nicely for me from 1.13 here m.youtube.com/watch?v=FGcHxDCTrKc

The Johnny Depp ad hits the spot

Yep, wife beaters are so sexy Hmm

iklboodolphRedNoseReindeer · 20/12/2016 17:19

There's the one that goes on 'Si to this, so to that' and ends up 'si to myself'. Which sounds like 'see to myself' - a euphemism for masturbation round here....

Submariner · 20/12/2016 17:33

I think I'd laugh in his face if he gave me that speech. Especially because he looks like a fourteen year old with a bum fluff moustache.

I do find the acting very impressive though.

TheNewMrsGerardButler · 20/12/2016 17:43

I fucking hate all perfume adverts. Except the one with Gerald Butler obviously They are all naff and I'm quite vocal about it. They're basically all the same man/woman kissing shit. Why can't they come up with anything original??

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 20/12/2016 18:05

Yes TheNew I would really be more inclined to try a perfume if the advert was of a woman saying"Here is Dior's new fragrance, it's called Lustre, it's quite musky with a hint of rose so if that's the kind of smell you like pop down to Boots and see if it's for you. Goodbye"

scaryclown · 20/12/2016 18:12

It should just be called 'COCK'

scaryclown · 20/12/2016 18:18

Seriously though, i suspect they are selling this to boys who want to be men. and this fragrance is basically the 'brut'/blue stratos entry to the diesel brand.

In a related issue..WTF has happened to the Diesel brand? it used to be edgy exciting and sometimes odd.. now its like Top Man.. only everything is grey...

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 20/12/2016 18:20

I agree scary their market is wannabe bad lads.

"You'll never know where I live"...bet it's with your mum though eh love?

Mungobungo · 20/12/2016 20:52

The Johnny Depp one where he appears to offer a 'sorevaage'. Erm, not from you thanks John!

Another one is the one where the geezer wins a trophy and carries it on his shoulder (what a knobber, it probably weighs less than a coffee mug) into a changing room filled with nubile beauties who OBVIOUSLY want to boff him. Cue his raised eyebrow at what is implied to happen next. Seriously!?!

I can't understand why perfume ads appear to be all about rolling around nekkid or men attempting to look vaguely dangerous.

Why can't they just be someone walking around looking and smelling nice? Without tits, pecs or weird monologues about how dangerous and/or sexy they are.

Bambambini · 21/12/2016 09:01

Must sppeal to male fantasies - whilst the women are sitting snortting and rolling our eyes!

OP posts:
Rubyslippers7780 · 21/12/2016 09:04

What? You say you don't roll around on a beach / satin sheets with perfect smokey make up and lush locks... you spray it whilst wearing jeans and a ponytail?!? This perfume is so not for you!!

CalleighDoodle · 21/12/2016 09:05

They could rename it Diesel Wanker.

I did think, when a man's aftershave tells you who he is, listen.
