What everyday noise drives you to distraction?

I am sitting in my favourite coffee shop and one of the members of staff needed to move a chair away from a table to place it in front of a high cupboard so she could stand on it to reach it. She dragged the chair several yards and the scraping noise made me feel like screaming. She then proceeded to do this several more times by which time I felt like my ears were bleeding. Nobody else seemed remotely bothered. My DD gets the rage from the clinking noise made when people stirring their tea/coffee for an excessive amount of time. What common place noises drive YOU mad?

I hate the noise of anything in a bottle being poured out. Especially wine. Rage!

Football on the tele. I cannot stand it!!

The sound of terracotta (?) the rough unglazed sides of pots grinding on the surfaces or each other- hard to describe.
People cracking their knuckles, although the involuntary clicks my ankles emit are perfectly ok.
People coughing, eating apples or crisps noisily and scraping their yoghurt pots or slurping their drinks give many of my colleagues the rage- endless tutting and harrumphing at lunch times in my office!

Dh eating. It makes me want to... well I don't think I can say without getting banned.

Eating, sniffing, sneezing, nose-blowing, whistling.

If someone sits next to me and breathes really heavily it actually makes me feel ill

Has to be my phone. Agree with PP - it's alwaaaaaays on silent and I'd go mental if it wasn't.

People breathing loudly! Or wet cotton wool... im not sure if it actually makes a sound or if i hate it that much. And something in the washing machine i.e a zip tapping against the front glass

Ticking clocks.
Wet breathers.
The sort of flicking sound that happens when someone picks at a fingernail.
DH tapping (anything).
Snoring, or otherwise unnecessarily audible breathing.
Jazz music.

I also have a love-hate relationship with the white noise app I use to put the baby to sleep.

The noise of the tv.
The noise of the washing machine or tumble dryer.
Helicopters, especially when they travel over at night.
Mouth breathing, especially when the person has a cold (I'm very aware that I do this too, and yes, I get on my own nerves)

My Nespresso machine when it is dispensing coffee

TVs and barking dogs.revving cars and scramblers.

My three year olds whiney voice, grrrrrr

I find chomping, slurping and munching noises very hard to deal with! DH is a very noisy eater (and has very child like table "manners") and it drives me to distraction. I have to turn the TV on to drown out the chobbling sounds coming from across the table!

Reading this thread reminded me of more I hate

Plegm gathering is foul
Over exaggerated sneezing
The dog cleaning her bits loudly and repeatedly, usually lying on the bed I'm in
Tween girls screaming for no reason
Men who can't speak in normal volume when in public (I think deeper voices carry more or something)
Washing machines that beep a good 2 minutes BEFORE they unlock the door
People who click their bones
The noise people make sucking on ridiculously large vape machines

Everything. If I could live in a lighthouse inaccessible to all people, I would!

My 23 stone mother stomping around my house like an elephant, honestly it can actually waken the next door neighbours kids when she stays here

Oh and heavy breathing down the phone
Oh even worse the sound of someone smashing the keys of their mobile WHILE talking to me on it! Physically hurts that one (and I work in s call centre so can only politely indicate that they're doing it and I can't actually hear what they're saying as I try to flinch away from my headset).

Adults chewing like children. Ticking clocks when trying to sleep, I have on numerous occasions taken batteries out when staying over somewhere. There probably is more.

I guess I am in the minority who love the sound of a ticking clock. In fact, I bought one for beside my bed with a really good tick tock sound to relax me.
I do really hate the sound of DH watching football on tv. The crowd noise and the announcers give me a major headache.
I also get sore ears anytime I am in Asda. It's so loud and I swear I can hear the conveyor belts moving along with a squeaking noise.

My tumble dryer used to beep when finished. I raged for a year then discovered if you press and hold two of the buttons together it disables the beep.
