How long cooked sausage rolls are safe left out at room temperature?

(Sorry, bit boring but never understood this)

Are you going to enlighten us, then?!

2 hours generally why?

Well at Xmas MIL cooks up a batch in the morning, and there they sit on the side all day long as nibbles.

This obvs goes against the usual 2 hr rule for cooked meat in ambient temp..

Then cooked meat in sandwiches in school packed lunch could have been unrefrigerated for 4 hrs or more by the time it's eaten (we use an ice pack in the box though, but don't know anyone else who does).

Plus I found some pages online which said that cooked pies and pasties are good for up to 24 hrs room temp - but didn't include any evidence and I can't find the links now...

Anyway... Just wondering how I should send DD's sausage rolls into school tomorrow for their class party (1pm+).

Baffled.

The catering industry uses the 4hr rule. Should be fine.

Thanks :)

I never keep sausage rolls in the fridge, it makes the pastry soggy.
We are all still alive.

They'll be fine!
You are seriously overworrying Smile
