AIBU to think I can't keep up and they're continued proliferation creates a clique like mentality, and that MN itself is the worst culprit! I know there's an acronym list but half of them aren't on there. Just now a thread got deleted with a MN message about it being a PBP.... No idea what that is!

Hackmum - third son or third child?

FinallyHere · 14/12/2016 09:23

I'm only guessing AuntJane but I would expect DC3 to refer to the third child, DS3 the third son, DC(3) a three year old child..

There's also a list of the most commonly used acronyms, if you click on "Talk". Give it a read. You'd be surprised how quickly they become second nature. Of course, when you've done that, you should probably cancel the check and rtft on your way to Maui, because, you know, there's more than just acronyms to contend with round here. Just ask Andy! ;)

Oh come off it banana, there aren't loads of unrecognisable ones are there???

If you don't like them don't use them, it ain't the law you know.

AuntJane · 14/12/2016 10:22

Finally - people seem to use DS3 for either. And also erroneously for age.

Shadowboy · 14/12/2016 10:34

I tend not to use them as I find them more time consuming to remember and type because my phone has predictive text. Plus I think it makes my post less ambiguous.

DisappointingBanana · 14/12/2016 10:41

I never said any such thing, iama Confused
I simply pointed out the ambiguity of a couple, as others have re: DS3

I do like them and I do use them.
