Period problem at work! (I'm hiding in the toilet!)

Not aibu, posting for traffic need urgent suggestions!

Just got to work i'm in the toilet, about to start soon.
Came on this morning, put a tampon in and stupidly only put one more in my bag and forgot my purse (because I'm an idiot!!)

Im usually not that heavy, but just got into the toilet looked down, blood everywhere bled through super tampon I literally put in an hour ago, bleed through onto pants (both sides!!) Tights and skirt are ok (for now!( and thankfully wearing black and sit on black chair!

I have about £2 in change, there's no shops that sell pants anyway around here but there's a little boots that will sell tampons (hopefully I have enough right?!!) What if I don't???! I don't have time to go now, lunch is at 1 so ill go then and put the tampon I have in now but if I'm bleeding like this already there's a good chance I will be a mess by then! any suggestions? tried to clean up pants with toilet paper but they're still wet!

Hope all ok

Miserylovescompany2 · 13/12/2016 21:38

I hope you are OK OP? Hopefully, you are being seen? If not, please go back to reception and say you are bleeding very heavily and you feel dizzy...otherwise, you could be in for a long unnecessary wait?

Blossomdeary · 13/12/2016 21:40

I cannot see why you don't simply say what the problem is, stuff a load of toilet paper down your pants and go and buy what you need. Having periods does not need to be an embarrassment and you should be up front about this.

lauryloo · 13/12/2016 21:42

Hope you are ok OP - that sounds awful

blossom the thread has moved on a long way since then Hmm

DontTouchTheMoustache · 13/12/2016 21:45

Oh OP please make sure they understand how much blood you have lost and that you are dizzy! I had a postpartum haemorrhage earlier this year after giving birth to DS and the blood loss nearly sent me into cardiac arrest!!

Rockclimbingtigger · 13/12/2016 21:46

Hi OP,

Hope you're now being seen but if not then please go back and speak to them. Tell them you are feeling very dizzy and that you are losing blood and filling a pad every 15 minutes. Write it down if you need too.

I'm a nurse in emergency care - the receptionist may not be clinical and may not realise what's going on. Really hope you're seen soon.

Keep us updated.

I cannot see why you don't simply read the fucking thread.

Hope you're seen soon op. You must tell the receptionist you are feeling dizzy and losing a lot of blood though. From reading the last post on here about similar, time is of the essence. FlowersFlowers

Op please tell the receptionist you have a gynaecology problem and might need tranexamic acid. That should get you seen quickly.
Losing that much blood isn't normal for you and so they need to quickly stem the flow. Tranexamic acid I said used a lot in A&E to stem blood flow and is also prescribed for very heavy periods.

They won't know that though if you don't tell them.
Don't feel that you're not improtant enough. People go to A&E for much less.
Hope you get it sorted and feel better soon Flowers

I hope you're being seen OP, this sounds really scary - you must be feeling really lightheaded. I read this earlier but everyone had already said what I was going to, but I really felt for you. Good luck with it.

Have you been triaged yet? Worried the receptionist won't realise what's happening.
