Not aibu, posting for traffic need urgent suggestions!

Just got to work i'm in the toilet, about to start soon.
Came on this morning, put a tampon in and stupidly only put one more in my bag and forgot my purse (because I'm an idiot!!)

Im usually not that heavy, but just got into the toilet looked down, blood everywhere bled through super tampon I literally put in an hour ago, bleed through onto pants (both sides!!) Tights and skirt are ok (for now!( and thankfully wearing black and sit on black chair!

I have about £2 in change, there's no shops that sell pants anyway around here but there's a little boots that will sell tampons (hopefully I have enough right?!!) What if I don't???! I don't have time to go now, lunch is at 1 so ill go then and put the tampon I have in now but if I'm bleeding like this already there's a good chance I will be a mess by then! any suggestions? tried to clean up pants with toilet paper but they're still wet!

I too remember the thread from a few weeks back where the OP had a similar level of flow - she was rushed to hospital. Think she was OK in the end though.

Rather than ibuprofen, you can be prescribed mefanamic acid, which is a more specific NSAID than ibuprofen to reduce flow.
Hope it all goes ok at A & E.

cheekyfunkymonkey · 13/12/2016 21:17

Flowers Crickey op, I hope everything is ok

Arghhhhhred · 13/12/2016 21:17

I'm in the waiting room now, when the receptionist asked me what the problem was I felt really silly saying "I have a heavy period" with so many people around so I told her it's private looking around me sheepishly hopefully she'll get what I mean (I'm deluded I've lost a lot of blood) she didn't. She obviously thought I was being rude and got really taken aback. I feel really embarrassed now.
I feel so dizzy.

Have you told her that you have very, very heavy blood flow and 111 told you to go to A&E.

likepeasandcarrots · 13/12/2016 21:19

You can usually ask to go to a private room if you have a personal reason for being there. You would think a woman receptionist would click on if a woman was being cagey about why she's there in front of a packed room!

AgathaF · 13/12/2016 21:20

I hope it's nothing too serious.

Blaze6 · 13/12/2016 21:22

thatdearoctopus · 13/12/2016 21:26

Not surprised you feel dizzy. You've lost loads of blood.

Hope they fix you soon. Wine

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 13/12/2016 21:27

Eek feeling dizzy! Go back and ask to speak in private.

amusedbush · 13/12/2016 21:28

Oh god, I hope you are seen quickly OP.

IrenetheQuaint · 13/12/2016 21:30

She'll have heard MUCH more embarrassing things. Go back and tell her you've been bleeding heavily all day and 111 told you to go to A&E urgently.

Do you have anyone with you?

ChestyNutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 13/12/2016 21:32

You need to tell someone that you are bleeding heavily and feel dizzy.

WellErrr · 13/12/2016 21:34

Really hope everything's ok Flowers

MadisonAvenue · 13/12/2016 21:34

OP, please tell someone that you're feeling dizzy. Do you have someone with you?

CakeNinja · 13/12/2016 21:37

Oh poor you Sad glad your boss was understanding.
I have PCOS. I have written about my periods on here before, but some of them have made me need to change a super heavy tampon and a maternity pad every 15 minutes for a couple of days at a time! I remember once leaving the house for a school thing of dds, and by the time I got to the end of my road, I had soaked through my jeans to my knees.
Gp wasn't that interested, sent me for a scan, said yes I had PCOS, as my periods aren't regular, it's not a cause for concern.
Wrote me a prescription for mefanamic acid and tranexamic acid and that was that.
I hope you're okay, I carry a spare pair of knickers and tights in my bag zipped up into a little purse that I shove in my bag now!

Babymamamama · 13/12/2016 21:37

OP it's so important that the staff know what is happening for you so they can prioritise your case appropriately. Have you been able to explain yourself yet? I know it's not easy but they really have heard it all. Are there any good friends close by who you could call upon to help you with this?
