To not buy teen DS a new PS4 controller (lighthearted)

I don't think I being at all unreasonable, but 15 year old DS thinks I'm ruining his life! His PS4 controller has broken. I've suggested he either saves up for a new one or waits til Xmas. Apparently the world will end if he can't play some
Fifa tournament and I'm ruining his future career as a You Tuber!!

This is light hearted as his reaction was so dramatic and OTT it was funny, but also a bit worrying as I do think he's a bit addicted to it. Friends with teen boys say there are the same, but what do others think? How much time do 15 year old boys spend gaming and at what point does it become excessive?

YANBU - if FC you buys him a PS4 controller for Christmas.

There was an article in our local paper the other day about a kid who threatened his mum with a knife after she told him to get off his computer.
