Are we commiserating or congratulating?
Flowers (to cover the smell)

Leirope · 12/12/2016 10:06

I knew this day was coming but I thought my child might be special and do lovely milky poos forever.

It was sticky, smelt like blue cheese and got everywhere.

Plonked him in the bath and a bit of undigested broccoli floated up from an unknown orifice.

I know what you mean. With DS's first solid poo I don't know what I was expecting but it weren't that.

Ah, solidarity (see what I did there?!).

The first time I changed DD when she went onto solids, I took her nappy off, and her bum looked.... Different. The hole was much bigger. Took me a minute to realise she was actually straining to push out a turd.

I shouted for DP. He held her little legs up a bit to help, and a pointy sharp hard dark brown turd poked its way out. Then, suddenly, exactly like the metaphorical turtle's head, it shot back inside and her bum closed up again.

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. DD did both!

onecurrantbun1 · 13/12/2016 19:47

Leirope for some reason my DD aged nearly 3 insists on using the potty for a poo. Worse than nappies... Confused agree with PP makes spotting worms easier (memories of an eventful walk in the local woods in the early days of potty training and the emergency potty being called into service for a poo that was crawling)

Breastfed baby poos are not actually unpleasant imo... just like slightly gone-off cake mixture. But pooed out kidney beans are just the grimmest thing ever.

ccoleman90 · 13/12/2016 20:13
