Fully expecting to get a kicking for this.
On Facebook, in shops. People who seem to have their entire sense of humour based around wine.
Every post on Facebook is some crappy meme about wine o' clock, prosecco or a 'cheeky' glass of wine.

Fair enough Mitzy, equally irritating!

CockacidalManiac · 14/12/2016 17:20

It's just boring and a bit "I'm mad, me".

yep.

My problem is that white wine in general seems very a-religeous. Beer and Red Wine are much more linked with worship.

I lived abroad for a few years and came back to England this summer and suddenly there's such a hype about 'prosecco' and I didn't even know what it was..!! Is it a recent trend or am I just dense? Lol

It may be a recent trend but there are plenty of people like me who've been quietly drinking Prosecco for decades because they like it.

Just spotted this little gem on facebook

to be mystified at people obsessed by prosecco?
Sparklemummyx0x0x · 16/12/2016 19:53

I hate any type of wine, champagne, cava, prosecco. Just the smell makes me heave. Don't do lager/beer either. Don't drink much to be honest.

My family have never been one to have a glass with their meal, it's not something my parents ever did/do unless out for a meal. Also they don't drink for the sake of drinking in the evening at home. So for me, the idea of this 'cheeky glass' or this 'can't wait to get home and have a glass' is strange. They would rather have a brew.
Though I understand from colleagues and a couple of friends it's part of their daily thing.
I do however see a few of these memes and posts, pics of wine glasses, like it's a 'cheeky' thing to do (sometimes an almost everyday 'cheeky' glass). It does drive me mad it seems to be the 'in' thing to post.

Exactly Arcadia. Irritating!

Chippednailvarnishing · 17/12/2016 10:04

I often think that I must be odd as I've never understood the now almost obligatory offer of a glass of wine on playdates!

ViewBasket · 17/12/2016 10:46

If a glass of wine was cheeky to me I wouldn't be drinking it again!
