Tis the season to annoy the neighbours...

Another weekend. Another house party next door. Not amazingly loud just loud enough to be irritating. Bass can he heard through our house. Loud nasal voices. 3am it finally stops.

I don't really care about 'oh it's only once a month..' 'people are allowed to have fun..'

I think it is rude to.

  1. Have a party of friends over and sit yaa yaaing until 3am so the entire street has to listen to your dross.
  2. Live next door to people and not invite them even though they may as well be at your shitting gathering.

If we were to have a party how would it work noise related. Would we both sit with out stereos on blaring music at each other in competition? Would they find that acceptable? Why do people think that it's fun for the neighbours to listen to this deliberate noise?

I can not wait to move somewhere like a giant field. With only me.

Haha I know exactly what you mean.. Had students live next to us.

I'm having exactly the same problem with my neighbour at the minute only it's every week and it goes on until 4/5/6 in the morning. I have three small children including 2 under 2. Oldest of the two takes days to get back to sleeping through the night just in time for the next party and a 5 month old who has gone from sleeping 6 hours a night to up every time we put her down during the parties. Neighbour apologises, turns the music down for roughly one song just to start all over again. I'm at the end of my tether. My only option is looking like noise complaints but don't want to go down that road as we've only moved in 6 months.
Not really any helpful advice for you but more a comment in solidarity lol

Play your music in the morning when they're in bed.

Have it on really loud.

Close the door and go out for the day.

Inconsiderate toddlers Angry

I would start a diary for maybe 2 to 3 months and then take it to the Noise Complaints department. Is it environmental health?

I like a bit of loud music every now and then but not at stupid times of the night.

Longdistance · 11/12/2016 05:11

toddlers tossers!

I hoovered loudly and had music on from 7.30am. I did also leave that music on when I walked the dog for 20minutes when I'd finished my cleaning at 10am, and kept it on past midday and pressure washed the patio. They would have struggled to sleep after their 5am party finish.

It's just one if those things. It's not quite loud enough or often enough to lodge a formal complaint but at the same time it's annoying enough that every month I spend a night listening to thump thump without an effing invite. Like seriously? You're entertainment area is next to our house and we have to listen to the noise but you never invite us over?

Australia. Such a friendly country.

We're in detached houses. It's just over here the houses are built like sheds. So no insulation. So even when they 'take the party indoors' it's pretty much like having it in your garden shed.

Hoovering would do nothing. Their bedrooms are on the opposite side of the house to where we are.

No Xmas card from me this year. The absolute shits.

Where are you OP? I'm currently in aus. My experience is from London living so I can TOTALLY hear it in a terrace. I'm in aus till June next year. Can totally understand how loud it is in a detached place!

ouTWATches · 11/12/2016 12:32

I'm in qld. So up where it's hot and sweaty.
I have told dh I hate it here.

No cricket in the street.
No invites to the beer party.
People are not friendly.
DON'T MOVE TO AUSTRALIA IF YOU WATCH NEIGHBOURS AND THINK IT'S LIKE NEIGHBOURS.
