Having an awful day.

Nc for this.

Carbon monoxide detector gone off, called emergency gas people they've turned gas off.

Thing is child disabled and I NEED hot water and heating!

Emergency chap couldn't answer my questions about reconnection (he thinks chances are it was a false alarm but he's required to turn off).

I can maybe just manage for next day or so but really would be a problem if it went on for too long.

I googled of course but all I'm getting is horror stories but mainly where the gas was cut off for bill problems.

Can not find on the British Gas official site/s any info on this. It's all making me very very worried.

Can anyone help please?

He likely has home care. Depending on the agreement level will depend on they can do. He may have the boiler covered but not the fire, for example.

Find out what level LL has and what they are doing when they come.

What a nightmare! I am severely disabled so we have it on record with gas and electricity suppliers and local fire brigade. I have an electric powered hospital bed with an electric air mattress, an electric powered hoist and powered wheelchair. If you have any of the above you need to state right away that you have a child with disabilities and you need heating/ power.

Before my disability, I was alone with my toddler son and newborn daughter (my husband was working offshore) Our pipes burst, leaving us with no heating! Luckily my lovely neighbour came to my rescue, he brought over several storage heaters and an oil burning stove. Have you tried posting on your local adds page? I have found that local people can really pull together to help in situations like yours.

Hopefully your heating is switched on now, I hope you managed to stay warm, I took both children into my bedroom and we kept cozy under the covers. The heaters were very handy though x
